Princess Diana of Whales was a very wonderful person. She touched many lives and went through many turmoils herself. I decided to do my paper on Princess Diana of Wales, not only because I am named after her, but of my interest in such a wonderful role model.
Lady Diana Frances Spencer, was born on 1 July 1961 at Park House near Sandringham, Norfolk. She was the youngest daughter of the then Viscount and Viscountess Althorp, now the late (8th) Earl Spencer and the Hon Mrs. Shand-Kydd, daughter of the 4th Baron Fermoy. As the Church of England does not remarry divorcés—a fact made all too memorable to the Windsor family by the abdication of Margaret’s uncle, Edward VIII, in 1936—Margaret was told she could marry Townsend only if she gave up her claim to the throne and her royal income and if she would live abroad for five years. In a speech broadcast to the nation in October 1955, Margaret publicly renounced her relationship with Townsend, who later married Marie-Luce Jamagne, whom he met while serving as Air Attaché to Brussels. Townsend saw the princess only twice more, once in 1958 and again in 1993, when he was invited to the Royal Palace. He died in 1995.

Queen Elizabeth I was said to be one of the best rulers of England. Unlike rulers before her, she was a Protestant and not a Catholic. She was not stupid though. She did go to church and did everything that Catholics did to prevent getting her head cut off under the rules of her sister Mary. Elizabeth was very young when she came to rule. She was only 17 years old when her sister Mary died and she took over.
Elizabeth Taylor, or Liz for short, was born February 27th, 1932 in Hampstead, London, England, UK to American parents, Sara Warmbrodt and Francis Taylor. She was an extremely strong woman who stood up for what she believed was right, even when not easy. In 1196 Diana and Prince Charles divorced, a mutual agreement on both sides; “The two became estranged over the years, and there were reports of infidelities from both parties” (“Princess”). Some women would have felt so blessed to experience this amazing new world where they are treated like a princess and decide to continue on, but Diana was different.Instead of enduring the rest of her life in a marriage she was not involved in, Diana decided to show great strength and divorce Charles. However Diana was still involved in her children's life, and still continued to take part in her charity work, she even began dating an Egyptian film producer named Dodi Fayed. Princess Diana married Prince Charles, King of Wales, on July 29, 1981. It was said that the Prince married Diana just because she fit the part. The part in which every Princess has to fit: has not been married, is Protestant, and is a virgin. Diana was the first English woman to marry the heir of the throne since 1959. With Diana being in the media so much it was hard to do anything without the press knowing about it.
She was not just adored in her home country, the United Kingdom, but around the world. Works Cited “Diana, Princess of Wales.” Encyclopedia of World Biography. Detroit: Gale, 1998.
