Prejudice and Discrimination

Unfortunately due to our past history, discrimination had been among us from since decades. Discrimination and prejudice would probably be among us until the end of the world. Prejudice and discrimination is an action that treats people unfairly because of their membership in a particular social group, class, or category to which that person or thing belongs to rather on that individual. It is an unfair treatment to a person, racial group, and minority. It is an action based on prejudice.

In this paper I will discuss what happens when we allow biases and prejudice to affect our actions toward others. I will then conclude my paper with what we can do to prevent or eliminate discrimination.

Prejudice and discrimination push people apart instead of bringing us together. Our religion, race, height, nationality, and even our gender are factors that most people make quick judgments about. Unfortunately, many of these judgments are based on biases and assumptions and it is among all of us. Every country, state, city discriminate among themselves even their own kinds.

Even though, discriminatory behaviors are done in many forms, they all involve in some form of exclusion or rejection. Over the years there have been several incident regarding discriminating against me and love ones. This behavior allows the individual to feel self-wanted or completely bring their self-esteem down. Discriminating denigrates the individual’s ability. It may question their being as a person. Who is anyone to determine ones being? We live a world that we use the term “All men are created equal.” Yet, we refuse to follow our saying. Most Americans are hypocrites. They pretend to have virtues, morals religious beliefs, and principals yet we are full of hat...

...nd the pursuit of happiness is not alive in America. Not everyone may witness discrimination, but I have come to experience it therefore, its limits one ability in so many ways. It is an unjustified act and should and could be stopped.

No discrimination should be accepted. I believe people lack education or refuse to be educated on the topic in order to stop discriminating. Personally, I believe no one can get far with ignorance. I believe one of the problem is the lack of bring the topics to the public and making people aware of this issue. It is not mentioned enough yet; someone is discriminated against every minute. I strongly believe that our generation can look past how we were brought up and stop discriminating against each other. We must teach our children better and also practice what we teach. We could start by speaking, spreading the word and petition.
