The Benefits of Pets on Human Health

Owning a pet can make a person's life better altogether. About 45% of American households include a dog and about 35% include a cat. It is shown that it can lower their blood pressure and can increase their opportunities for exercise and other physical activities. To have a pet can also help lighten the owner's mood and lessen stress. It has been proven that if a person owns a pet, they will have a longer, healthier, happier life. Especially if they own one as a kid, which can help them with being responsible, and can even make them immune to certain conditions such as allergies and asthma. Having a pet can help improve a person's life physically and emotionally, and their overall quality of life.

Owning a pet can have many benefits, some of those being physical benefits. Owning a pet may decrease a person's blood pressure. Which can reduce the risks of heart attacks, kidney disease, and strokes. There have been numerous amounts of tests performed to prove this statement. In 2014, there was a report given by Harvard Medical School that blood pressure was exactly 7 mm lower in older people who owned pets rather than people who don’t have a pet. …show more content…

It can make a person's life much less stressful and can make them happier overall. It can even make children become immune to certain conditions such as asthma and certain pet allergies. Having a pet can help improve a person's life physically and emotionally, and their overall quality of life.
