Imagine walking into a unfamiliar building your stomach feeling fluttered, your palms are sweaty, you have even noticed a nasty a sweat stain under your arm. How many of you have ever experienced this type of anxiety? I have had to overcome this feeling many times. Today I am going to tell you how to survive a job interview. First I am going to tell you how to prepare for a successful job interview, then I will tell you how to ensure your appearance is intact, following that I will tell you how to maintain a level of professionalism, and finally I will tell you how to leave a lasting impression.

I. First I am going to give you some tips to ensure that you are fully prepared for your job interview.

Your first impression is many times determined from your appearance.
B. Dress for the job you want
1. If you are interviewing for a professional job setting I highly recommend that you not wear jeans and a t-shirt to the interview
2. To play it share I recommend that you dress casual business attire
3. I wore this today to show you how you should not dress for an interview. Your potential employer doesn’t want to see your lucky shirt that has holes in it.
4. From interviewing my mom, Carol Williams, who is an office manger it is highly recommend that you remove any facial piercings such as a nose or lip ring and also cover any body tattoos as best possible.
5. According to Wall Street Journal you shouldn’t go over board with your appearance; avoid flashy accessories.
Now that we have gone over how to prepare and dress for a job interview I will tell you the last important part which is how to maintain a level of professionalism.
III. Maintaining a level of professionalism can be a deciding factor in an interview

1. Make sure your cell phone is turned off. It is not ok for you cell phone to go off during a job interview(this includes vibrate, this still creates a distraction)
Now that you have completed the biggest milestone, the interview itself you have one last step to ensure success.
IV. Follow up with a thank you note
