Public dog parks could be very essential to cities. Many people who own dogs have no where to take them, which does not give the dogs any exercise or social interaction. We should treat our pets as equal and satisfy their needs as much as our own.

Dogs deserve to run around and be free without a leash holding them back. Dogs deserve to have a chance to go further then what their leash allows them to. Pet dogs should be allowed to have their space where their owners can take them, so they are not in just an empty lot or on the streets possibly causing injury to a nearby resident or themselves. Back in 2013, researchers did a report of owners who left their dogs in shelters, which resulted in 65% of people who say they left their pets in a shelter due to bad behavior. If dog parks were available to residents, there would be less dogs in shelters, fewer bite reports from dogs, and less bad behavior from dogs in general. …show more content…

If there was a dog park, property values would most definitely go up. The community should try to make every resident happy where they live. Some cat owners don't feel dog owners should be able to get a dog park since they themselves are not asking for a place to bring their cats. Cats are more of indoor animals and they don't need as much attention and exercise as dogs. Cats don't need wide open spaces to play around in. People feel as though they are being treated unfairly due to the lack of yard space and areas for their pets to roam around
