1. I am studying Business Administration here at UF because in the future I hope to be a successful businesswoman. Since the early age of 6, I was an entrepreneur. When I was six, I began my own business in my community, and sold products (toys) on the block that I no longer wanted in order to make a profit. This past summer, I created my own jewelry company and it was a success from the start. I used social media to advertise, sales skills to move forward and generate more revenue, and my artistic ability to create products. I believe that watching “Creating a Business Plan” will help me in developing myself professionally as a future business owner. It will give me insight on where to start in how to begin a business, help me account for any financial risks I may face, give me a better understanding for the market in which I will compete, give me the best ways to sell my product or service, give insight on how to manage administrative functions that can support my business, help me figure out how many people I need to hire, what positions I need to hire for my company or business, and other key factors. I want to pursue a degree in business. Even though I am in the Hospitality community at Wyandotte High School, I’ve realized I want to study business because when I look at my family members, I see them working long, hard hours and coming home tired, but all while working for someone else. It makes me sad. I feel bad because they live paycheck to paycheck and they use that to pay bills, but at the end they are barely left with anything, and that is why I want to go into business.
Over this course of this semester, I have learned a tremendous amount of information about myself from the self-exploration series. The results of my PGI (Personal Globe Inventory) presented me with a couple of different career paths to explore. The first type of career that was brought up to my attention was an enterprising career. There were a number of enterprising careers, but the one that interested me the most was business management. I’m a student at Tompkins Cortland Community College this is my first semester as a college student. I plan to go to college for four years and only be at TC3 for this one semester, then transfer to a four year school. College has grown around the world more than ever and more people are attending college more than ever. I have chosen to go to college because of the rewards after graduation. Yes it is another four years of school but by getting more education and an extended degree gives me more opportunities for better jobs and more money. The career I have chosen to study is business administration. I am hoping that it takes me to a great job managing a company or possibly being an accountant.
Finding a career that is adequate for me in life can be a difficult challenge. Since I was a little my dream job was to continue the family business back home in Ohio. Many people choose their degrees because they do not know what they want. I am very sure that the degree that I have chosen is the right one for me, which is Business and Administration. I am now attending County Community College and I wish to end my Associate Degree here in two years. Finance is a field that had always fascinated me right from my undergraduate college days. What make me interested in this particular field of study are the art of finance and the complexity of investment market which would allow me to employ my personal skills, such as analytical and communication skills, along with my personal characteristics such as dedication and compassion for what I do. As one of the most important sector in the world, I believe it would provide me with a broad range of career options.
7. I am applying for a bachelor degree related to finance or business at UBC, because I have always been fascinated by economics and particular how it functions within our society. I guess perhaps it has something to do with my parents, since they both worked in finance. With their encouragement and guidance, I find myself enjoy accounting, marketing and math more than any other courses. But with any type of business, there will always be advantages and disadvantages. Five advantages to owning your own business are: 1) The owner receives all profits, meaning that all earnings go to the sole proprietor, or the owner, and isn’t shared with anyone else.
At a glance, accounting might appear as a repetitive cycle of preparing and examining financial statements. However, a brief exposure to accounting has taught me how chaotic it can be for accountants. An accountant captures and represents the information of businesses. By reviewing financial operations, an accountant helps a business run efficiently. This profession can be intellectually stimulating and rewarding. After learning about accounting, I cannot help but be interested and desire to work toward a degree in accountancy. In my studies, I have learned accountants require a plethora of qualities to be successful. And to mature from a student to a professional, I must resolve to strengthen my weaknesses. There is much I must learn and achieve, but a degree in accounting is well worth the time spent.
When planning for our future it is important to have clear goals in mind and to understand the steps that need to be taken to achieve those goals. My long-term goal is to run my own counseling center and employee at least one other person. Some Skills I already possess that will allow me to succeed with this plan are my ability to relate to people and be consistent in following the steps needed, even though it will be a long and tedious process.

My personal vision of the future is not something I have taken a significant amount of time to ponder in the past.
