What is the topic you will be researching?
The topic that I will be researching for this assignment is the use of personal protective equipment in the workplace. Personal protective equipment or PPE for short are any protective equipment that a worker may wear to minimize exposure to hazards. While PPE is used to help prevent hazards, it is also only to be used as a temporary or a last line of defense against any potential hazards that a worker may be facing. There is a huge variety of different PPE and all of them have their own specific role to help ensure your safety. So, depending on the type of hazard and the degree of protection required, you will be required to use different types of PPE or different kinds of the same PPE. Some of these

Techniques include elimination (replacing a harmful material with a safer substitution), engineering control (the use of engineered machines to help minimize hazards. Ex: vents) and administrative controls (training).
A list of five questions that you would like to research and a short answer for each.
1. When was the first uses of personal protective equipment?
As there are many different types of PPE that one could use, many PPE have their own little history that differ from the other. The occupational health and safety act makes the employers responsible for ensuring that the right PPE is worn by the workers. Construction regulation require that protective clothing, equipment or devices are worn to protect the worker.
What data and sources are available? Explain the websites or information you will be reviewing.
These websites talk about the history of the different types of PPE and about the first uses of PPE in history as to help answer my first two research questions. Some other websites tell us about the general responsibilities about of the employees and the employers when it comes the PPE; what they should do and how to do it. It also tells us about the different types of PPE available and what they are used for. Another website talks about the different rules and regulations in regards with PPE. A different website also contains the occupational health and safety law, construction regulations, labor code and CSA standards for PPE. The final website talks about the problems that come along when using PPE (How the PPE is not the perfect source of
