It was early in the morning when I was packing my bags to go on a vacation trip to the Bahamas with my family. I was really excited to finally spend some time with my family and have a week off at work. Our flight was at 2 o clock so we left at 12 to get ahead of the traffic. We got there at about 1 o clock and made sure we packed everything we needed. Before we board the plane we said a prayer and got on the plane. When we got there we were amazed how the Bahamas looked, but I was just ready to go fishing. So we rent a car and went to the hotel to chill for a minute then go to the beach. When we got to the beach it was beautiful, the sand was warm, the water felt nice, and it was a nice breeze. My 12 year old boy Max was anxious to get in …show more content…
We saw all the boats speeding passed us and it was a huge wave coming right at us, we tried to move but our boat ran out of gas, so we held on tight to the boat but the wave was so strong that it tips the boat over. But I manage to escape from under the boat, but I realize that my family hasn’t came up yet , so I went under to get them and they were under the boat so I pulled them out and dragged them to the surface. They were okay, so we climb on top of the bottom of the boat and we watched as the storm pass. We were hungry and thirsty. But we can drink the ocean because if you do you will get dehydrated quickly. But when I was looking around I spotted an island, but it was going to be a long swim, so we jumped off the boat and we started to swim towards the island, Max started to get scare because he is thinking there is a shark following us, so I use my goggles I got from the boat to look and there was a shark but it was far down so we stop swimming for a minute until it went away. And it did so we started swimming again to the island and we eventually made it. So we sat there for a minute lying down tired from all that swimming. It was a big island it had nice sand and it had a lot of palm
It was a warm rainy June night the humidity was high which made it even harder to breathe on the crammed boat. My family was asleep on the constantly rocking boat suddenly the boat shook, but my family was still fast asleep. I couldn’t seem to fall asleep so I got up and stepped out on the cold wet steel boats upper deck to get some air. When I got outside I realized that it was pouring bucket sized rain. I saw increasingly large waves crash furiously against the lower deck. Hard water droplets pelted my face, I could taste the salt water in my mouth from the spray of the ocean. Suddenly A massive wave slammed hard against the ship and almost swallowed the boat. Wind gusts started kicking up. I held onto the rail grasping it as if it were my prized possession. Suddenly I was blown
The day my grandparents told me they wanted to go to the Florida Keys and asked if I would like to join. So of course I wanted to go. Oh and when they told me i could bring a friend along i was jumping with happiness inside. They told me we would be going for a couple weeks and they had all expenses covered. So that day I started talking to Jamie and asking her when she would be back, because at that time she was in Florida visiting family.
As my family and I walked into the plane, we were excited. The plane ride to jamaica stopped in L.A. and, after that, it went to jamaica. When we arrived in Jamaica it was really hot, but it was wet. I immediately took off my sweater I was wearing on the plane. We took a bus to our hotel. Then we started swimming in the water park. Every night there was a show in the main stage. The next day we woke up early to go to chukka. It was awesome. We saw a great house, rode on horses, and did a challenge course. After we came back from Chukka, we went to the water park and swimming pool at the hotel. Then we ate at fresh, which we went most of the time. The next day we woke up earlier to go to the dolphin cove. The bus was an hour late, but the wait
It was an exciting day for me and I didn’t even know what was going to happen. My grandpa came to my house and then he told my brother Luke and I that he was going to take us on a fishing trip to Canada with his friend. We were so excited when he told us I told Grandpa, “This will be the best summer vacation ever!” After he told us we went and got gear like fishing poles, rain suites and food. When we got to the house the morning we were leaving, he showed us a picture of the cabin we would be staying in for the week. It took us a while to pack the car we all packed some of the same foods.
It was a bright sunny day and the lake looked like glass, perfect to go water skiing. My dad, brother, and I decided to go get the boat ready for our trip. We had to get the sunscreen, refreshments, and water skis. Once we all got in the boat, we had to untie the ropes that were tied to the boat and the dock and lead the boat out of the dock without it colliding into the dock..
On the day that the flood had hit, it was raining cats and dogs. Speaking of dogs, our dog was floating around the house on a door which looked pretty funny but then I felt pretty bad for her. Anywho, in the evening we got picked up in a bus and they took us to a school near by called
I can remember leaving my home in Haiti with only my favorite stuffed bunny in hand as we drove to the airport. As I sat next to my sister I could see the plane leaving the only place I’ve ever known, take off across the Caribbean Sea. My dad brought his family to the United States to give us a better chance at succeeding in life. My parents have always instilled that we could not take this opportunity for granted and that no one in this country would give you handouts. As I grew up, I’ve seen my parents struggle and face many hardships that I work hard to not have to deal with in the future.
This past summer, my family and I went on a cruise to the Bahamas. We had just docked at the second port, Nassau, and were preparing to exit the gigantic ship named the Carnival Fantasy. Once we got to the city, I noticed it was bustling with people of all different backgrounds and cultures. The roads were narrow and some even hilly. I remember coming to the conclusion that a lot of people in the Bahamas must have road rage what from the blaring car horns I could hear around every corner. My family and I were walking along the sidewalk, glancing into shops as we passed them. The weather was unbearably hot, but growing up in South Carolina allowed my family and I to push onward with our adventure. The sun burn on my back started to pulsate in pain any time the sunlight hit it, so we decided to stick to the side of the buildings that provided shade.
As I got up this morning my parents where all yippy and happy like my dog when she wants to play. But they were starting to freak me out because while I was eating they were staring at me. Then as I got my stuff and tried to say goodbye they rushed me out but then I realized why, today was the day I go Afghanistan. But also today was the day that my parents leave for the Bahamas I knew they are going to have more fun than me. But I drove my truck down to the airport I thought about how my parents wanted me just to be gone and even when I got on the plane I thought more about the fact. But all of a sudden the plane landed and I reported to camp but I wasn’t to thrilled. I was mad like a bull and people could tell but I wasn’t to worried. Once
The trip to Florida over Christmas break was unlike any other. Yes, most people would jump at the opportunity to go to Florida after a winter like we had up to that point. So, let me give you some background on why the trip. Back in July my mother in-law had an epileptic seizure that rendered her in a coma, she has not awoken from and the doctors are pushing to let her go. She has been moved 3 hours from my brother in-laws house to Georgia. Thanks to our lovely health care system, it was the only place available that could take care of her needs. Perfect timing kids are out of school and it is a good time to travel so you would think. I have been out of work
Warm sun gleaming down and eighty-five outside, a cool breeze and pizza buffet at my own disposal. An escape away from reality and into a relative paradise, no job nor school to worry about, just the concern of applying a generous amount of sunscreen. Sunsets over the cerulean waters are the main event of the evening, along with a fancy meal and a show or two. Adventures in the Bahamas guided by native islanders filled our days. I was accompanied by my family to enjoy a week long cruise on the Carnival Sensation.
The first thing I would rather be doing right now is walking on the sand at the beach. I would want to hear the waves clashing against the rocks and the seagulls chirping above me. I would want to feel the sand in between my toes and the ocean breeze. I would want to see the dolphins poking their fins out of the water and the seashells tucked down in the sand. The second thing I would rather be doing is on a cruise going to the Bahamas.
Traveling, observing nature and exploring. These are passions of mine that help define who I am. A love for the outdoors has been a personal trait my whole life, growing larger with every adventure I encounter, especially with my friends and family. A family vacation to Yellowstone National Park and a school trip to Costa Rica are specific events that expanded my love for traveling and the outdoors.
I was very excited to go swimming and meet other people to hang out with while I was outside. After, I went to my room to get a shower and put on some comfortable clothes I walked to the very front of the boat and the wind was blowing like 60 miles per hour. When I looked once again, I could see this little island with many lights on it and it was called the Bahamas. The Bahamas was very enormous and there were different shops to buy things at. When the boat finally arrived their everyone got off to go explore the island and buy thing, so I decided to look around and I bought different drinks to try. When I got to the edge there was very blue amazing glimmery water reflecting to me it was so cool to see kids playing and swimming in the water and on the
My most memorable family vacation took place two years ago. We went to Corsica, a French island situated in the south of France right next to Italy. I remembered waking up early excited to visit this new land. Used to take long flights, I was surprised to arrive to the destination after a one-hour flight. Even though the flight was short for me, it was stressful for my mom, she has never felt secured in a plane, probably due to the fact that she is afraid of height. When finally arrived at the destination, the dry and warm weather was there to welcome us. We all felt relief, and knew that this was the beginning of the summer. Excited, we had a lot of activities planned for the few weeks, me and my father could not wait to dive in the clear
