American Dream
Every person has an American Dream they want to pursue, achieve and live. Many people write down goals for themselves in order to get to their dream. Those never ending goals can range from academic to personal. As of today, I am living my dream. My American Dream is to become a nurse, travel to many places, have a family, and get more involved with God.
Ever since I was younger, I wanted to get into the medical field. Both my grandmothers used to work in the hospital and I would always wanted to tag along. Following them to work influenced my decision to work in a hospital. Every time I tag along, I would see many interesting things that would catch my attention and make me curious. There was a lot of materials such as the stethoscope, weighing machine, and etcetera that I would pretend to be a doctor or nurse examining imaginary people. It was absolutely perfect because I always wanted to help people. So this fall of 2014, I will be starting my education on becoming a nurse anesthetist.
Not only do I want to fulfill my career goals but also goals with my personal...

It was the summer of 1944 a year that would change my life. The dream I was having was abruptly interrupted by the loud voice of my mom yelling “Amante wake up!” Today was the day we were moving from Venice Italy to the great city of New York. There had been many bombing throughout Italy and we decided to pack up and live the American dream. I had been waiting for this day for years I had seen pictures and heard about America’s beauty but I couldn’t wait to see it in real life. The whole Dinardo family was excited to go, including me and my little sister Angelina. Angelina was only 8 years old. We’re seven years apart. She had golden blonde hair the color of honey and freckles dotted across her face. My dad walked excitedly into my room telling me that
The American Dream There is no set definition to be found anywhere of the true meaning of The American Dream. Any hope, dream, or goal pursued by anyone in the history of America is an American Dream. In modern times the accepted dream seems to be 2.5 children, a house with a white picket fence, and a perfect spouse. However, as it is shown throughout literature from the early days of America to contemporary times, the American Dream is not always so simple a concept. America was originally founded on the dream of freedom.
“The American Dream is that dream of land in which should be better and richer and fuller for everyone, with opportunity for each according to ability or achievement,” (Adams,“The Epic American Dream”, 1931, pg 214). Reading this I had to translate this quote for myself. I got that the American dream is that every American citizen can be successful and prosper in this great nation if he/she puts in the hard work, possesses determination, and the required skill. Such ideal, I think carries a lot of weight and promise to those who take advantage of the opportunity. However this dream is slowing dying.
The American Dream, in my eyes, would be described as unrealistic. It's a notation put in people’s minds that an individual can achieve anything he or she sets his or her mind to do. Now the outlook is being perceived as pessimistic, then again, I believe “The American Dream” is overestimated. When I was a young child, I aspired to be a princess who lived in a castle with a handsome prince and live happily ever after; I aspired to be a princess until I was thirteen. Still, it was instantaneously disappointing when reality dawned upon me, I could never be a princess. Although it left me completely devastated, I soon realized, there’s a huge difference between dreams and reality.
What is the american dream? The american dream is the ideal that every U.S citizen should have equal opportunity to achieve success and prosperity through hard work, determination, and innovative. All People try to achieve there goal and they try so hard to accomplish them. Like Mama, she tries hard to achieve her goal for her family to have a great and safe life. In the book “raisin in the sun”,mama shows she is the american dream because she wants freedom, she wants her family to be happy, and happiness for her family.
The American dream is the ideal thing that every American hope to achieve in their lifetime. The dream resonates with native-born Americans and immigrants who were looking to have prosperity through hard work, determination, and initiative. The people who traveled to America in hopes to have good jobs, a nice house, and plenty of money found it was going to be hard to make happen. Although, the American dream is hard to achieve it is possible for the people who work hard to obtain what they want.
Throughout my life I have set many goals for myself. Each goal is a small step towards achieving my idea of the American Dream. Every person in America has their own idea or version of what the American Dream is. To me, an American Dream is something that we can all achieve, but it will take a lot of hard work in order for us to be successful. Certain people will dream of happiness and others might dream of wealth, but I believe the dream that I want to achieve is something more meaningful than those things. Three post-high-school goals that embody my idea of the American Dream is attending College of the Ozarks to further my education, own a well managed farm, and in the future, I would like to have a nice house and a family. Each of these
To do what makes oneself happy. The American Dream is represented in many different ways and every person lives and chases a different version of the American Dream. Chris McCandless lived his American dream by walking alone into the wilderness of Alaska. The song written by Toby Keith, “American Soldier”, shows the price some pay for their dreams and ours to come true. Jay Gatsby died trying to acheive his dream and get the girl he loved, but died happy because he had pursued her until his death. The band All Time Low wrote a song called “The Reckless and The Brave” that brings a new light to how we go about achieving our dreams. So I believe that the American Dream is all about doing what will make you the happiest in the end.
The vision of the American Dream is unique in every individual person. It is uncertain that each person wants to achieve this dream, but it is completely possible for each and every person to apply themselves to complete their pathway. My vision of the American Dream is to be doing what I love, surrounding myself by who I love, and having self love. In order to achieve this, my pathway consists of many struggles and determination. I am determined to achieve what my previous ancestors could not. My job will be an occupation that appeals to my interests and I will continue to participate in hobbies I enjoy. I will have a loving and unbreakable family. Most of all, I will be happy with myself and know my worth.
"The American Dream" is that dream of a nation in which life should be better and richer and fuller for everyone, with options for each according to capacity or accomplishments. It is a dream of social stability in which each man and each woman shall be able to achieve to the fullest distinction of which they are essentially competent, and be distinguish by others for what they are, despite of the incidental conditions of birth or stance. The American Dream is often something that humanity wonders about. What is the American dream? Many people discover success in a range of things. The American dream is a continually fluctuating set of ideals, reflecting the ideas of an era.
The American Dream is not just one wish. People all around the world create goals and wish for things that maybe one day, they could earn. My American Dream is to graduate from a good college, get a doctorate’s degree in Cardiothoracic surgery, and make a change to the world. Before I finish high school, I want the world to understand the importance of respecting and motivating each other, not putting each other down. Self-confidence plays a major role in my life. I have always had a low self-esteem because of others bullying me for different reasons, but there is no excuse not to be nice to a person who is just like you. If there was a way to make the world understand this concept, I would do anything to try to get it out there. Be a ladder, or a lifeboat, help someone out even if they don’t ask for it. Don’t be that person who doesn’t care about the struggles or feelings of others.

After my graduation, I want to work in a veterinary for some time, and get a lot experience because I wish to have my own business. Also, my dream is to save money to buy a house in United States and if is possible, I will get married in my 30’s. However, my social class status has had the middle social class, but it’s not contributed in a 100 percent in my dreams. I can say that it contributed in some of my dreams. For example, the middle class has helped to me that I still can continue with
I asked my mother, “what was the world?” as she swept her arm forward she said, “it's what you see, our house, the children, the food that we eat”. That’s what I am, what I can see, and what I can feel. We have dreams to have more than the things that we can see. My dream, is to seek a better place for myself.
