There are too many words to count that describe ¨America.¨ America is the home of brave men and women who will go through the worst and most unbearable things just to keep this country and its people safe. These men and women don't just fight for the people they fight for freedom for the people and for the citizens of foreign countries. The leaders and people of America need perseverance to keep on fighting and leading this country for the greater of mankind. One of my favorite quotes/ mottos of all time is Semper Fidelis which means always faithful. America isn't just some land that a bunch of dead people settled. It is the home and safe haven for millions of people and that is why we are so protective and strong.
The government is not the only thing that keeps this country

It is perseverance. Without it, we wouldn´t have freedom or bravery. Perseverance is doing something in a humble manner and doing it to the best of your ability. Essentially perseverance is what helped us separate from Britain and fight for the land in the West Coast. We all have to persevere to get through our lives because there will always be someone better than you and there will always be someone worse than you. You can´t be satisfied to just be ¨OK¨ you have to persevere to be better than what you think you are capable of. If we don't push ourselves to be better then we won't move forward in life and we will remain the same for years and years to come. Nowadays we are getting lazier and lazier to the point where we do not want to try new things. We are getting too comfortable with just being ¨OK¨ and contempt with being mediocre. If everyone tried a little bit harder at life and tried to make the world a little bit of a better place then everything would be better. To me America has tried its best at helping other nations with supplies or at war. America has inspired to persevere in everything I do and to do the best I can at
America, often called land of the free, opportunity, but what truly is America has someone actually contemplated it? Well there are certain things that might define America, for example America for some people could be the land of opportunity, There are many reasons why different types of people all across the world might pursue the land of opportunity, America. That one person leaving their home land might be a parent, a parent looking to pursue a better life for their children. A better life than the one they lived. To allow their children to actually follow their dreams and hopes, to be someone in life. Where in America there is truly no limits to what one might become in life, or what one will do with the limitless opportunities.
American is known as the land of opportunity and freedom. The land that welcomes people from

having courage to stand up and fight in what you believe in no matter the consequences.
“The good guy always wins” is a phrase we often hear growing up. Parents reassure their kids that the hero will win despite the trials he encounters. Joseph Campbell, who coined the term “monomyth”, identifies these trials as a part of a pattern in the hero’s journey. This pattern consists of separation, initiation, and return. Osmosis Jones goes through this pattern with only a few pieces missing. The hero in this story teaches others that giving up is not an option. One must have perseverance to complete a goal, in this case, to save Frank. The journey that Jones takes to help him get through the monomyth helps develop the theme of perseverance because he never gives up on what he wants.
America. It was a dream come true in a New World that was envisioned by artists, politicians, and monarchs alike. The ones who believed that anything could be achieved by God, the mind, and manpower. Even through opposition from governments, kingdoms, nobles, and naysayers, these brave individuals strived to establish a better life for themselves and their families, aimed to retain a secure future in the process, and wanted to worship God in their own way.
Many people encounter perseverance throughout their life in certain events. Buck from the Call of the Wild, is taken from a place like home to him and thrown into a harsh environment he is not used to. Similar to that, my mom was living a normal life when suddenly she had to stay strong for the family due to her brother near death from a tragic wreck. Even though they differ, both had to adapt to the life changing experiences and stay mentally strong.
“I vividly remember my grandmother steaming clothes from the pot to hang on the line to dry, she called to me, ‘Oprah Gail, you better watch me now, cause one day you got to know how to do this for yourself.’” Still, small voice inside me, really more a feeling than a voice, said, ‘This will not be your life. Your life will be more than hanging clothes on a line’”(Daily Mail). Oprah Winfrey, an African-American female known for empowering women and being the first black female billionaire has overcome so many difficult challenges and abuse. Even though she's been through these challenges, she continues to persevere. This perseverance helped her to grow to become one of the most famous icon for women around the world.
America, land of the free and home of the brave. The center of democracy and freedom. At least that is what America thinks. However, with this being the first of its kind, it is relatively weak and can be infiltrated. While better than the Articles of Confederation, the United States first government, this government can still let cruel and oppressive leaders to tyrannize this nation. While our government is fairly safe, we still can be oppressed by unfair elections, the excess legislative power, and the lack of laws protecting minorities.
America the home the free and the brave is a term coined by past generations as a well known saying that patriots hold true, however not all people feel that is a true statement. America a place known for its freedom of speech, right to bear arms and the freedom to be whomever you want, however, for some the American dream is not a reality privileged to all. Millions of people walk the streets of American suburbs and shuffling cities everyday, some just stopping at their local corner store or hustling to get to their place of employment. Many minorities think of the start of their day to be an everyday struggle that is filled with a daily reminder of prejudicial viewpoints, racial profiling and competition at every corner they turn. America is not so kind to everyone, minorities are often the cause of media exploitation, false criminal statistics and mass media hype.
Since April 13th Verizon Wireless has been at strike. Verizon wants to remove on call centers and replace workers with people from different countries. Over 35,000 workers across America are forced to make a decision between continue working for Verizon or begin picketing. If they choose to continue working, they are then called a Scab and are tormented by their fellow workers. Even though they are getting paid, Scabs are kicked out of the union, stop receiving benefits from the union, and betray the other verizon workers. The other option would affect the whole family, not just the individual worker. When picketing, workers stop receiving their usual paychecks. Instead they will receive two hundred dollars a week from the union for picketing

My perseverance has prepared me for a career in medicine. The path towards becoming a physician can be long and challenging, necessitating the ability to endure. My ability to bounce back from setbacks and mistakes has solidified throughout my journey. One of the cornerstone experiences of my personal development occurred during high school. My determination led to me my graduating as valedictorian of my class, while balancing three varsity sports and several extracurricular activities. In addition, I worked on weekends to help support my family financially. This persistence resulted in scholarship awards that made higher education a possibility.
Gerald Ford once said “Making light of adversity brings out the best in us.” I happen to disagree with our former president as when you make light of adversity it certainly brings out the worst of us. We made light of the growing empire of Japan in the 1930’s as well as a growing terrorist organization known as Al Qaeda in the 1990’s and we payed the payed the consequences. How ever if you look at the results after we payed the consequences those results will prove that we perform at our best as a nation. When you look at the history of the United States you'll see that when we're forced to face adversity due to anger to we perform our best as a country and overcome the adversity we face on the domestic front and abroad.
America, land of the free and home of the brave. This is so true but when you stop and think, what is your vision of America? Have you ever stopped to think about it? My vision for America is benefits for veterans, help with college tuitions, and people thinking about their morals.
