One major aspect of nursing is patient centered care. The nurse of the future takes many things into consideration to focus daily work using patient centered care. Patient centered care is defined as “caring for the patient using a holistic care approach considering each client’s personal preferences, values, family situations, religious and cultural traditions, involving clients in their decision making”(Hood,2018,p.384)

Essential characteristics of Patient Centered Care According to Hood (2018) it stated that “family members must be involved in their loved ones care whiles been admitted in a nursing home. Therefore it is important to involve family members to become patient and family centered care (PFCC)” p.384.PFCC means where the nurses contemplate the family needs and the health care team including the patient working together in promoting care for the patient. Respecting the clients dignity is critical therapeutic communication (p.94). On the other hand, clients and their families must also show respect to the nurses and other health care team. Sometimes clients and their families who do not share the same cultural values and norms with nurses and the other health care team end up disrespecting the health care workers and this creates conflict.
