Affordable health care law or Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA) is the novel commandment that touches the practice of public health or community health nursing. PPACA, also known as the Affordable Care Act, (ACA) is a united State federal decree signed into law by President Barack Obama on March 23, 2010. The ACA proposal emphasizes three foremost approaches: 1). Dropping costs and increasing productivity so the organization works. 2). Proposing inexpensive, manageable coverage for everybody. 3). Accentuating deterrence agendas in the public health setting (Anderson, K. 2009). Before Obamacare was passed, millions of Americans were uninsured, suffered and died prematurely each year since lack of health insurance. Insurance companies could deny any one for pre-existing illnesses or drop them when they get sick, or stop treating them when they touched annual or life-time perimeters. Over 60% of bankruptcies were associated to medical expenses, several of these people had insurance. Insurance companies had no limits on raising premiums. Preventative measures and wellness visits were not covered adequately (Mowrey, 2013). ACA law allows children to be enclosed under the medical and dental plans until they turn 26. Certain vital benefits covered under this law such as ambulatory patient services, emergency services, hospitalization, maternity and newborn care, mental health and substance use disorder services, prescription drugs, labs, preventive and wellness services, chronic disease management and pediatric services. Anticipatory precaution is covered without any cost-sharing (copayments, coinsurance or deductible). ACA has been taking consequences since the start of 2014, but it has already had a big impact on the... ... middle of paper ... ...ecurities that the sick cannot be denied coverage (Woodward, 2012). The Affordable Care Act benefits to reconstruct the healthcare system by giving more Americans access to superiority, reasonable health insurance and supports to curtail the growth of healthcare spending in the U.S. People with health insurance will have access to a number of new benefits, privileges, and defenses which ensure that they can get treatment when they need it. This helps over 32 million Americans afford health care who could not get it before. It not only helps the consumers but also our budget and economy on a more stable path by reducing the discrepancy by more than $100 billion over the next ten years. Since there are millions of people with health insurance, it will also increase the demand of healthcare provider as more jobs will be open which will help our economy (Mowrey, 2013).
