The results have shown us that all four methods of extinguishing fires which we have used have been successful in putting the fires out but some were more efficient than others. Experiment A, with the vinegar, was the most successful substance. The fires in all the rounds of testing were quickly extinguished and there was barely any smoke. All the fires extinguished using Bottle A, were put out in under fifteen seconds with times such as fourteen seconds, thirteen seconds and eleven seconds. After the different rounds of testing, we also noticed that the product was easier to use and therefore put the fire out quicker. My original idea was to make a mobile monitoring device that made inferences on a person’s physical behavior, and could give advice on how they could potential lead healthier and happier lives. At the start of my research I was interested in articles about mobile devices such as BeWell[1], which is a smartphone application to monitor and promote wellbeing. It kept track of people’s everyday social, physical, and mental behaviors and provided useful feedback to improve their lives.
The unknown bacterium that was handed out by the professor labeled “E19” was an irregular and raised shaped bacteria with a smooth texture and it had a white creamy color. The slant growth pattern was filiform and there was a turbid growth in the broth. After all the tests were complete and the results were compared the unknown bacterium was defined as Shigella sonnei. The results that narrowed it down the most were the gram stain, the lactose fermentation test, the citrate utilization test and the indole test. The results for each of the tests performed are listed in Table 1.1 below.

Determining the Relative Atomic Mass of Lithium An experiment has been carried out to determine the relative atomic mass of Lithium by using two different types of methods The first method that was carried out was to determine the volume of Hydrogen produced. In this experiment a fixed amount of Lithium was used, in my case it was 0.11g. At the end of this experiment, the volume of Hydrogen gas I collected was 185cm³. Then using the solution of lithium hydroxide made from experiment one, I used it in the titrating experiment, to find out the total volume of Hydrochloric acid used to titrate the lithium hydroxide. This report presents the implementation of a Clock element and the use of the seven segment display on the Altera DE2-115 board. This experimentation with the clock and display are valuable since they are a precursor to future labs to come. In order to make these items work it required the use or Verilog code, which was given for parts 1, 2, and 3.
