My Values - Work, Family, and Friendship Three important values that I hold, are hard work, family, and friendship. These are values that I think will make life better and easier for a person. They make me feel secure and prepared for the future. Without these values I probably wouldn't care about anything at all. My values were all influenced by my parents. The only one that I had to figure out mostly by myself, was to work as hard as I could. Hard work is something that I had to do in order to prove to myself that I was smart enough. It probably controls most of my life. I need to do everything right and get perfect grades to be satisfied, and so I'm always working as hard as I can. It sounds like a bad thing, but the hard work almost always pays off. Family is a value that my father taught me. He told me that family is the most important thing in life. Your family will always be there when you need them, and will love you no matter what you do. This is a great thing, because it gives me security and comfort. I know that the decisions that I make in life will be guided by people that care about the outcome, and if things don't work out they'll be there to do whatever they can to help me. You never have to put on a front with your relatives, they will almost always accept you for who you are. Another value that was influenced by my parents as well as television, is friendship. Even though your family is always there for you, friends are still very important to have. Having friends will usually raise a person's self- esteem. By having friends you know that you are a good person, and that people
My family is the most important people in my life. I can always count on my family to be there in my time of need, and someone that is always there to laugh with me and make great memories with. Even though I am ten hours away from home, I know I can still call my mom and dad anytime, day or night, just to simply say “hey what’re you doing?”, or to talk about things going on at Union. I encourage you as you move forward in life to always make the most of the little things in life. You never know when the unexpected might occur, so never take your family for
The book I read was Eleanor & Park by: Rainbow Rowell. It takes place in Omaha Nebraska. The external conflict in this book is Eleanor's dealing with a horrifying home life, mostly due to her abusive stepdad, Richie. She starts to look forward to her bus rides with Park. Park can't stop thinking about her either. Eleanor starts reading Park's comic books over his shoulder, and from there it's an up and down hill situation. A key issue revolves around Eleanor and her stepfather, Richie. There are countless times when Eleanor notices bruising on her mother's face. Richie abuses Eleanor’s mother physically and emotionally. Richie yells at and controls Sabrina Eleanor’s mother, and Eleanor is so used to it that she can sleep through the screaming.
I have a long list of values that I find very important to me, but there is a few that stand out the most. Those values are family, friendship, hard work, responsibility, respectfulness, independence, equality, and honesty. My personal values are extremely important
State how these values were formed, how they influence your character, and how you came to embrace these values. (2 marks)
In a country as culturally and ethnically diverse as the United States of America it may be difficult to believe so many people from so many different backgrounds could share the same basic set of values. Even if one were to ask any number of random Americans, they would receive varying responses on what their values are. Some may not be able to give a definitive answer. Others could continuously list values without stopping. Although it may appear that there is a broad range of values, taking a closer look one will find that these ideas can be condensed into four major categories. These highly important American values are individualism, equality, competition, and advancement.
Personal Values depends on where you come from, who you are as a person and your culture. Everything we go through and we experience our beliefs all depend on what we have been through in our lives. Life impacts every person from a different perspective and that specific perspective is how you view your life and the things that occur in it. As a future educator I want everything that I am impacted with that involves sexism, racism, prejudice and illegal immigration I will observe and handle with an open mind. It is all about perspective.
know that even though some of the time it may not seem that my parents would
People and life are constantly changing, people come in and out of your life, but your family will always remain present in your life. They are the ones who will never leave you. Though the Webster’s dictionary considers family as "the basic unit of society traditionally consisting of two parents rearing their children” (Webster). Family is the biggest part of an individual’s life. Families tend to each other’s needs and we create a bond with our family that will never be breakable. Family values should be treasured and remembered. No one could love you more than your family does; the best love is from your family. They will never let you stand alone and will always stand beside you and help you get through any obstacle.
A value system is a rational set of morals brought up by an organization, society, or an individual as a norm of guidance towards their behaviors (Hebel, 1998). Almost all the time, people depend on these fundamental principles on what is wrong and right. Whether one is aware of it or not, different sets of personal core values vary upon each person. Such values include integrity, authenticity, compassion, courage, and truthfulness to name a few. Your values define who you are. At times, there is a huge gap between how people become aware of their values and the way they live their lives. We can overcome our most difficult beliefs, habits, and challenges by setting them aside and replacing them with the true values that conform to our lives. Anything that is considered destructive or jeopardizing towards our development professionally and personally should be put aside (“How Values,” n.d.). Understanding our core values doesn’t just simply give us direction and guidance towards living a purposeful life, but it gives us sentimental fulfillment and happiness while at the same time bettering ourselves to become better people.
Since ancient times when David and Goliath was fighting for their division people had values. As human beings we never take the moment or the extent to set up a blue print for our beliefs, customs, modes of conduct, qualities, or goals we just have this unspoken language of knowing what they are. However, what if one was assign to write a paper about their values but could only identify three. One may have second thoughts about what he or she decided, I know I did. In this essay I will be answering questions and discussing the top Three values I came to conclusion. The three values that I hold close to my heart are family, richness, and determination. The principles were feed to me throughout my childhood era. During this period, making
There are so many things that are important to me, but only a few that could greatly affect my life if I didn’t have or accomplish them. The biggest things to me are success, family, and freedom. These are all things that are essential to my life in so many different aspects.
The reasons I came up with is that they help me cope. We do this by talking about the problems that might be going on and they listen to every word you say, they understand everything about you, they accept who you are and they give you advice about things that you might need help with. They are always there for you even when you don't want them to be there. You can also enjoy spending time with them because they can always make you laugh and make you feel better. Friends are important to me because we are able to bring up any topic that might comes to ours mind. Not only do we help each other cope with day to day situations but we enjoy each others company and have a lot of
I am fortunate to have realized my faith in god in early years of my life and experiences in life have only strengthened my faith; I was born and raised in a small town in India and my elementary to undergraduate education has been from a Christian, catholic school, Convent of Jesus & Mary, a congregation established by Mother Claudine Thevnet who wanted to undertake the education of girls in India. It was in school, I first experienced the introduction to Christianity and my family being Hindu resonated a lot of common values being taught at school. Since there was no conflict in my values learnt at school and those at home, these were only deepened and have become an important part of my personality. As a result of my upbringing and my education, memories of my faith are amongst my earliest. I believe in the presence of god and I believe that god has bigger plans for me. My education and my family has integrated values in me for respecting, accepting, understanding other members of the society. Hinduism taught me how to be respectful and tolerant to others, it taught me that I need to understand that I am a human and I am here to serve and help others in need. There have been times when faced with difficult challenges in life and I have followed the path laid by god, ignorance went away and I found solutions and answers to the problems and challenges that I faced.
Throughout life a lot of individuals realize their personal values. One of my personal values is
