Moving Away at a Young Age Moving far away from family and friends can be tough on a child at a young age. It has its pros and cons. One learns how to deal with moving away from the people they love and also learn how to deal with adjusting to new ways of life. Everything seems so different and at a young age one feels like they have just left the whole world behind them. That was an experience that changed my life as a person. It taught me how to deal with change and how to adjust. It developed me from a young boy into a mature young man. The day I moved away, a lot of things were going through my young mind. As I took my last look at my home, I remembered all the fun times I had with my family and friends through out my life. Now I was moving 800 miles away from all of that with no insight on what lied ahead for me. As my family and I drove away from our Michigan home, I looked out the window wondering what Virginia would be, and what my friends were doing. A lot of things were going through my mind at the time. At the time my main worry was if I would make any friends, and how I would adjust to everything. During the whole drive down, my mother would often let me know that everything would be all right and I would like it. Trying to be strong and hold back my tears, I just shook my head no, wondering why we had to move so far away. Life would be different for me and I knew it would. When I was nine years old, my parents, two siblings, and uncle decided that it was time for us to move from Missouri up to chilly Massachusetts. Both my uncle and father were construction workers. There were so many projects in Massachusetts, it was sensible for us to move. Financially, this was also the solution to our money problems. All around we were all very excited for this move, all except for myself. About halfway to Massachusetts, I had a gut feeling that this was a bad decision. Upon arrival, I felt like a fish out of water and, I was. Everything was so different compared to how Missouri was.
... and I started to realize some of the good effects that moving has had. I now understand that this experience has changed me in positive ways as well. Soon I would have friends in different places in the world that I can visit. I would have many places where I could go and feel like home. Most importantly, I would learn that one can adapt to every town and its people and that friends can be made everywhere. Every place has its conveniences and its problems. Every town has its generous and heartless citizens.
Have you ever had to move to another state? If you have move to another state, I know how you feel. You might had have friends that you were really close to, but then it turns out that you have to leave them because your parents got a new job or something else happened. Well let me tell you my experience, based on why I had to move.
Nobody really likes moving. At least I know, I don 't. Moving to another place you have no idea about is tough. When I was 14, my father petitioned my family to move to the United States. Upon hearing that news from my mother, I was devastated. Devastated that I have to leave the place that I grew up, leaving all my friends and family. I have to travel 10,000 miles across the glove to live in a place I have never been to. I have very little idea about United States before moving, I have only seen this place through screen, watched movies such as "High School Musical." From what I have heard and seen life seemed so much easier and happier in the US, but once I stepped out of the plane, I knew it would not be even close to what I have pictured in my mind.
Life changes in matter of seconds. Imagine waking up to news of moving to a different country as an innocent young child, leaving friends and family behind and moving to a country thousands of miles away. I can still remember how terrified I was of leaving my homeland and coming to a new, different environment. Going to a place where I had no friends or family was the hardest thing ever. My friends and family members were very upset and they were crying because I was leaving. I was trying to be strong and hold back my tears. I had no choice of staying or leaving because I was only 11 years old and I had to leave with my parents. They had to leave the country because they owned a clothing store and it was no longer performing like it used to. They wanted to leave Egypt and live the American dream. My life went through a complete change because I moved to a new country, had to adapt to a new culture, learn a new language.
I spent the first twelve years of my life in a small town in Delaware, where I imagined I would always stay. Life in Delaware was not perfect but it was ideal for our family. Growing up in that small town made me accustomed to consistency, secureness, and a reliance on close family and friends. Whether it was because of my age or not, I never realized how blessed I was to have grown up in Bear, Delaware. That was until my dad accepted a promotion in the Midwest the winter of sixth grade. The idea of change shocked me, as it would for any other twelve year old unaware that people move from where they are from.

It was a beautiful, sunny day in South Florida. I was six years old, playing by the pool with my new puppy. I loved swimming in the pool almost every day after school. I also enjoyed going out on our boat after school or crossing the street and going to the beach. My father came home one evening with some interesting news. Now, I do not remember exactly how I felt about the news at that time, but it seemed like I did not mind that much. He had announced that we were going to move back to my birth country, Belgium. I had been living in Florida for five years and it was basically all I had known so I did not know what to expect. I had to live with my mom at first, and then my sister would join us after she graduated high school and my father finished settling things. I remember most of my earlier childhood by watching some old videos of me playing by the pool and dancing in the living room. It seemed like life could not get any better. However, I was excited and impatient to experience a new lifestyle. I realized that I could start a whole new life, make new friends and learn a new language. Belgium was not as sunny as South Florida but it has much better food and family oriented activities. Geographic mobility can have many positive effects on younger children, such as learning new languages, being more outgoing, and more family oriented; therefore, parents should not be afraid to move around and experience new cultures.

Your mind is unquestionably your existence and losing control of your mental state, will be your downfall. As a result, one must place one’s happiness first above others. Being mentally stable in the twenty-first century is difficult to come by & if you can say that you are mentally sound, you deserve a pat on the back. As the years have gone by the world develops new equipment that makes it easier for farmers to spray plants with pesticides chemicals. Organic farmers may not use synthetic pesticides, but they use a wide variety of natural pesticides in which more than half of them are rodent carcinogens (Luik, 2007). These toxic materials found in these pesticides that are organically approved to spray on its produce, are known to cause many health risks (Aroian, n.d.). When you outweigh the risks and the benefits, organic produce seems to be more toxic to consume, with the risk of rodent carcinogens (Luik, 2007). Also, the consumption of organic foods not only causes a possible threat to us, but also to the environment. There was a study done showing they needed more amounts of retonene used on organic pesticides, compared to its synthetic counterpart, which rotenone is toxic to fish, and other marine life (Tangle, 1992). Also, organic farming relies on constant mechanical weeding, as opposed to no-till conventional farming, not only dose it disrupt worms, but it uses large amounts of fossil fuels (Luik, 2007). More importantly, since organic farming depends on plowing under crops along with manure to build soil fertility, not only is there a wide variability in the nutrition provided to crops, but the decomposition of the manure produces large amounts of environment-unfriendly greenhouse gases (Luik, 2007).
