Ministry Brief 1: What is a pastor?

A pastor is a man who is a shepherd to their flock, someone who loves and cares for their congregation. A pastor is wise and is above reproach, and is not easily swayed by popular opinion. He is a man of one wife, and he loves his wife dearly, making time for her and for their kids in his daily routine. A pastor is not a drunkard, and while he does have the ability to drink, he is not unwise in how he handles his alcohol and he always takes a wise approach to social events. He is a man who has many tasks, and most of the time he is very busy. As many people demand much of his time, he often does not have time to do everything that he feels called to do, and has to make tough choices as to what good things to do and …show more content…

Many of these calls bring him out of his house at night, and there are a lot of nights where he is tired and up with people because they need him, and while he is not always available to them, he does his best to show them that he loves and cares for them.
A pastor is someone who abides deeply in the love of God and his someone who is constantly praying for the needs of this congregation. A successful pastor is someone who prays constantly, and he does not rely on his own power is much he relies on the power of God. Prayer for a pastor is something that he uses each and every day, and he is the man who loves not only to do life with people, but he also loves to go for God and receive for his people on their behalf. A pastor’s prayer life is one that does not always have a lot of time devoted to it, but is one that is fruitful and shows his genuine heart force people and his desire for his church Donnelly to grow numerically, but also to grow as a unit. A pastor may not always be able to do everything that is necessary at the church, but he is a master delegator and he loves to empower others to do the tasks that he himself
