Martin Luther King Jr.
“God’s children, black men and white men, Jews and Gentiles, Protestants and Catholics will be able to join hands and sing in the words of the old negro spiritual,’Free at last, free at last, Great God a-mighty , we are free at last’”-Martin Luther King Jr. , this quote means that one day Dr.King wants people to be equal. Martin Luther King Jr. is a hero because he lead the civil rights movement. Martin Luther King Jr. wants people to be treated equally, no matter religion, race, or color and thats why he said the quote from above. Dr.King is a hero because he lead the the civil rights movement and gave the most amazing speech ever (in my opinion) the “I had a dream” speech.
A Chronological Background of his Life
Dr.King was born in Atlanta, Georgia on January 15, 1929. Dr.King is the son of Michael King Sr.and Alberta Williams King. Dr.King is the middle child, Dr.King had an older sister, Willie Christine King and a younger brother, Alfred Daniel Williams King. At age 5 Dr.King attended a public school. In May, 1936 he was baptized, but the event made little impression on him. In May, 1941, Dr.King was 12 years old when his grandmother Jennie, died of a heart attack. Dr.King (young) jumped from a second story window at the family home, attempting suicide. Dr. King took over the small struggling Ebenezer Baptist church with around 13 members and made it into a forceful congregation. Martin Luther King Jr. was never his birth name, his birth name was Michael King Jr.
Dr. King married Coretta Scott King in 1953 and had four kids, two boys and two girls named Bernice King, Dexter Scott King, Martin Luther King lll, and Yolanda King. Yolanda King was the first to be born and first daughter or King. Yolanda ...

...an (which would have made the Boycott not existent), or Dr. King might not have bailed Rosa Parks out of jail, or not enough people might have joined them. If this was to happen it would probably make a big impact in the world.
Dr.King is my hero because he not only lead the Civil Rights movement he lead the Montgomery Bus Boycott and helped a lot of people. In my opinion Dr.King has a very interesting background, like his family and never knew his name use to be Michael but now I do. Dr.King went through a lot of problems and struggles in his life. He also had a lot of accomplishments and contributions it was probably hard for him because he was leader of a lot things and a father and a husband. I don’t know how he did it because I couldn’t do it. He helped a lot if he never existed the world would still be a very dark place. Martin Luther King Jr. is my hero!!!!!
