This man was born in Miami, Florida in 1971 and son of Cuban immigrants. He earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Florida and went on to earn his law degree from the University of Miami. That man is Marco Rubio. To me Marco Rubio isn’t just a politician, he’s an inspiration to many Hispanic immigrants who want to be successful in the United States.
Marco Rubio is a great example of the American Dream. His parents moved here from Cuba for a better life, but not for them, but for Marco. His father was a bartender and his mother did a number of service industry and retail jobs. Rubio became interested in politics as a young child because his uncle would read the newspapers out loud to him. Rubio attended University of Florida, and then earned his law degree

from the University of Miami. He suddenly became a rising star in the Republican Party by winning Florida Senator in 2009. Marco Rubio inspires millennials to strive for greatness. Doesn’t matter what race or ethnicity you are, be the best of your ability. Society may tell you, you can’t do that, but anything is possible. Marco Rubio showed great potential in his political career.
His political career initially began in 1998 when he won West Miami City Commission. Opportunities arose and Marco took ahold of them. He had made his mark in state politics and went on to win his bid for the Florida House of Representatives in 1999. In 2003, Marco had become majority leader and speaker of the house which made him a dominating political force. As speaker, Rubio created an ambitious campaign to generate ways to improve and reform the state government. Rubio had a proposal called “100 Innovative Ideas for Florida’s Future,” in which half of these ideas became laws. Rubio wasn’t all talk , this man was strictly business. Rubio continued to climb the ladder by surprisingly winning Florida Senator in 2009. Rubio was viewed as an underdog, but the well-spoken young politician made sure the people were aware of his opponents ties with Barrack Obama. He knew we needed change and he wasn’t settling for anything less than a win. Rubio shows great leadership and continues to show political domination in the state of Florida. Rubio continues to prove himself over and over again only to lead him to his biggest task
yet. On April 13, 2015 Rubio had announced that he was running for President. Rubio was ready to for the highest point in politics. In a speech delivered in Miami he said “ We’ve reached a moment now, not just in my career, but the history of our country, where I believe it needs a Republican Party that is new and vibrant, that understands the future, has an agenda for the future”. Rubio felt that he qualified for the job, in which who could disagree, he had proven himself to be reliable. Marco Rubio had shifted to a more moderate conservative position which may attract more moderate republicans to his campaign. As his presidential campaign went on, he found himself in competition with reality TV star Donald Trump along with Ted Cruz. Unfortunately, Rubio wasn’t winning enough delegates and had suffered a skull crushing defeat in his home state of Florida to Donald Trump. Rubio had dropped out of the race after losing his home state of Florida. However, Rubio had announced in June 2016 that he would run for a second term in Senate. In fact, Rubio had won the second term for Senate and who knows what is in store for this young politician. As you can see Rubio is qualified for any position in office. Rubio continues to inspire millennials and strives to start a New American Era. Rubio is still debating whether he wants to run for the 2020 Presidential Election. Rubio’s Intentions are to make changes for the better, and to make America better than ever.
He begins by raising doubts about the accuracy of Reagan’s beloved vision of America as the “Shining City on a Hill”, alluding to emotion-stirring stories of the homeless in Chicago and mothers who struggle to feed their children. His use of ethos poses the question “If our very own president doesn’t know what’s going on in our country, what makes him qualified to lead this country into a bright future?” Most of Cuomo’s speech challenges the decisions and qualifications of President Ronald Reagan, making him appear as the country’s enemy. Cuomo repeatedly appeals to his audience’s emotions by referring to the country as a family who has been separated by the ideals of Republicans, arguing that they divide the nation into the “lucky and the left out, the royalty and the rabble”(275). His metaphoric “wagon train” of America calls for Democratic action, as the Republicans can’t make it to the frontier “unless some of the old, some of the young, some of the weak are left behind”(274). Once again, Cuomo articulates his vision of the nation’s people as a “family” by finishing off with the story of his own family. He uses both pathos and ethos to confirm that, being the son of immigrants who worked hard to provide for their family, his appeals are credible. His use of vivid imagery like witnessing his
I believe that the American Dream nowadays, is just a short, redefined version of living a middle class lifestyle. But, for others, the dream might simply mean escaping poverty and giving their children a better life. The American Dream, however, is in my opinion not only applicable to natural born citizens but to legal and illegal immigrants as well. I’m swayed to think this way because my parents are living their own, redefined version of the American Dream. They came to America to escape the poverty that Mexico had to offer, they were in need of food, money, a home and a better life for my sister who was only one at the time.
The American Dream has become a motive for success for both Americans and immigrants. The dream is what draws foreigners to America and what keeps Americans living in America. For some, it means living in a land of opportunities, owning a house with a family, having a stable job, or becoming rich. The American Dream has been, and continues to be a foundation built of both ideals and hopes of Americans and immigrants. The American Dream can be defined by breaking the ideal of class distinction. The ability to go beyond what is expected of your class level, means achieving the American Dream. When Mexican immigrants first arrive in America, they belong to the lower class, only because of their rough start in Mexico. Although they have started out rough, the families from Mexico are on their way to achieve their American Dream. They are on the path to breaking free of the lower class and becoming part of middle-class. Their possibility of an increase quality of life is higher than in Mexico. The drive for an enhanced life is a main part in the drive for the American Dream.
The American Dream can be lived by anyone who tries to make due with what they can afford at the time they are in and the situation that’s upon them. The American Dream is built into everybody who has ever wanted better for themselves and family members. It is not being selfish just wishing to have all the worries of the hustle and bustle of life go away that would be so nice; everybody innately wants to achieve that because why would you want to spend most of your life worrying about money and security?
James Richard Perry was born in the small town of paint Creek Texas, on March 4th, 1950. In a town with the population less than 400 you have to find things to keep you occupied. Perry spent most of his time working on this family ranch. Even at a young age, Rick Perry reach his goals. He earned the rank of Eagle Scout scout I feel like; at a young age, he was determined to do good things.
With nine candidates in the running, four Republicans and five Democrats the Florida Senate race became an important power grab for not only the party but also the Presidential race. Senate races within years of Presidential elections are always important as they help shift power within the nation. What is most interesting about the race is what the winner did and who the winner is. Marco Rubio rejoining the race for Senate after dropping out of the Presidential race was definitely a shake up. As the Democrats poured support into their bids for Senate, primary behind Patrick Murphy, to ensure the Democratic victory. While one would assume the Democrats would attack Marco Rubio for failing at the Presidential race, especially after not winning Florida, the attacks did not stop Rubio from sailing forward within the Republican spectrum. Rubio, despite not focusing on the Senate race was able to pull off 7% victory over the Democratic runner up. One particular reason Rubio was

Fidel Castro was an illegitimate child of the upper middle class in Cuba. He was the son of the family maid and his father, who happened to be a wealthy farmer and landowner. Castro was highly educated for the twentieth century in Cuba, earning a Doctorate in Law. However his success in life did not come to him as a lawyer, but as a ruthless politician and revolutionary. When dictator, Fulgencio Batista was overthrown during the Cuban Revolution in 1959, Fidel Castro boldly took on the role of leader over Cuba, broke away from the domination of the United States, and put Cuba’s economy in the hands of the Soviet Union. According to Charlip, “Castro visualized a reformed Cuba, with agricultural cooperatives, industry, education and healthcare
One very good example of the American Dream is Andrew Carnegie, the founder of what is known as U.S. Steel. Carnegie was born in Scotland to a poor family. As a teen, he emigrated from Scotland to the United States. He was portrayed as a hard working individual who was very intelligent and disciplined. He took it upon himself to read and learn as much as he could.
His father is a Puerto Rico native and an author. “In the 1980s he was a special advisor for Hispanic affairs to Mayor Edward I. Koch, and served as Director of the
Mark Cuban most people know him from the owner of the basketball team dallas mavericks. He was born in pittsburg in 1958 and was raised in a middle class family. When he was younger he would sell sets of garbage bags to make money to buy the pair of shoes he liked, he would do anything in school to make a dollar. He became the stamp and coin salesman of the school. His go getter attitude extended in the classroom as well.
