Research a life goal Although I have many goals in life, two stick out to me the most. They stick out in every decision I make and they help me form good decisions. What I want most importantly in life is to become a pharmacist and to create a family with someone I love. I want the family most importantly because I was raised in a very tight Greek family. I want to raise my kids in that tight Greek family as well. Becoming a pharmacist is also a very important goal because I want stability in my job so that I can raise my family without major money issues. I also think it is very important for people to be healthy so that job would allow me to provide health care. Becoming a pharmacist would allow me to have stability and flexibility in the future with my life, which will be important when I am older. My goal to become a pharmacist will be much tougher than other careers, but its rewards are much bigger. Since I have always shown interest in helping people, this career will be perfect because I can advise patients on medications to better their health. To become a pharmacist, I first need to pass the first two years of my pre-pharmacy work here at STLCOP. This will allow me to advance to the professional classes. Once I am able to pass my 6-year classes, I must take a license exam to obtain my pharmacy license (about.com). Pharmacists have very good job outlooks because they make a high salary with many benefits (about.com). I must work very hard in school to become this because it will not be easy. I need to become a pharmacist because I am not interested in anything else besides health careers. I want to help people with their health, and I have wanted to do this since I was a child. I want to work in a clinical setting becau... ... middle of paper ... ...be very athletic buy after having kids she left herself go. I want to make sure I keep my healthy habits. I would very much like to keep my religion a strong factor in my life and my family’s life. I am Greek Orthodox and we take religion very strictly. Religion is important because it can also get you through hardships and difficulties in your life. Religion can also be a great source of strength when hardships arise. I want my family to see the importance of God and how many miracles I have experienced because of him. If it was not for a deep religiousness my dad had, I would probably not be alive today. Overall, I have many values in my life that I would like to keep intact when I am a full adult. These are important to my future kids and me because I want them to have goals. I believe that goals are very important because they keep people strong and focused
There are a lot of reasons why I chose to pursue pharmacy as my career and they all point to the most important reason: pharmacy is a great fit for my life and is something I have become increasingly passionate about. It started when I was researching careers with my parents and my dad suggested pharmacy and, simply put, it sparked my interest because at the time it was one of the few things I thought I would not hate doing. A healthcare career has always been where I put myself in the future, mainly because most of my family members are in the healthcare field. However, I have never been one that could directly help the wounded or deal with anything gory, but am very intrigued by the growing science of pharmacy. As I continue exploring pharmacy, the more I enjoy learning about it and feel like I could excel in this career.
Everyone has their own personal values that the gain throughout their lives. Some of these values are passed down through the different generations of their family. Values can change over time and some people learn more values as they grow up. I personally have gained a range of different values in the past eighteen years of my life. My own values include: respect, honesty, empathy and trust. I gained the value of respect through my parents as I was always told to show respect to others and they would then show me respect back. When I was really young I had to respect other people’s things and their feelings. Through my parents I was brought up to believe that it is always better to be honest and tell the truth about everything. I feel that
One of the most important values that still hold true to me is the act of protecting family members. As a young child, I was brought up in the lower-middle-class lifestyle, practically barely touching the breaking point between lower-class and middle-class. The family is all we had to keep us loving life and making us live our lives to the fullest. Without my family, I do not know where I would have ended up today. My parents did everything that they could to make my brother, and I understand the importance of family and how powerful a loving family that looks out for each other has on the outcome of our everyday actions. Every time my brother and I experienced something negative involving our friends and or girlfriends, they always ended the conversation with “well no matter what happens with the outcome of this situation, just remember that your family members will always be with you until the end”. I never fully understood what my parents meant until the loss of my uncle when I was just a
My three goals are to graduate high school with Honors, be financially stable, and I want to be cured of my PCOS. I always wanted to graduate high school with Honors. Graduating high school with Honors has always been on my mind. If I were able to graduate with Honors, then I would feel very successful. I also would feel very proud, because then I would know that all the hard work and all the things I did throughout high school paid off.
I have a lot of goals for my life, but since I’m in high school right now, so my priority goal should be my high school goal. My high school goal is very important, my college goals or even my life goals depend on it. My high school goal is to get a GPA of 4.5 or above in senior year.
I am the first one of my family to attend college, and I want to set a memorable mark in my family and be a great role model for my younger cousins. These goals that I have set in place will allow me to work on bettering our society. With an education, I will be another person in society with a higher education degree, which is always helpful to our society. I also will be working in medicine and medical research. This will allow me to work on new treatments for diseases that will allow the mortality rate in the United States to extend.
Finally earning my degree will not only put me in company with an elite group including only one other in my family but I would finally be fulfilling a personal goal. Financially, earning my degree will give me a better opportunity to support my family, get additional qualifications and make myself more marketable in my field. Being a role model for my teenage children is important. Returning to college I am leading by example that it is never too late to accomplish a goal. Returning to school and earning my degree shows my children I do value education and also increases the chances they will work towards their own postsecondary education.
I want to be the best I can be so that one day I can do the same for my children. In all, I think what describe my long term goals would be to get my Bachelors degree. Once I get my bachelor’s degree, I hope I can either continue with my education and get a master’s degree or use my bachelor’s degree to achieve great things. I really want to experience everything that I can. I never want to regret something that was worth trying.
Values in my opinion should determine your priorities, and they’re probably the measures, you use to tell if your life is turning out the way you want it to. Knowing your own values can help you make decisions about how to live your life. The values that I believe in play a very important role in my life. These important values have been greatly influenced by my family and life experiences. My core values include family, health, knowledge, happiness, friendship, loyalty, trust, hard work, honesty, and learning.
Understanding who we are as individuals can be a struggle for people throughout life. It can be difficult to comprehend who we are and why we exist. There are daily outside influences that help create who we are and what our values are. Values play a significant role in our lives. They shape the choices we make and reveal a big part of our identity to the world. Some values may be more important than others, but they still manage to influence our lives in one way or another, whether we know it or not. Values can range from a tangible item to an idea that has influenced us to stand by and remember those values. The values we hold with the highest importance act as a guide and help us prioritize our purpose and goals in our daily life. My family has taught me a list of values and traits that have helped me become a well-rounded individual. I value my family more than anything because most of my core inner values have started from their teachings at one point or another. My top values that I have developed from my family are dedication, honesty, and wisdom. I will discuss who I am in terms of the important values that shape my personal belief system and decision making framework that, in essence, describes the direction of my life.
My values were all influenced by my parents. The only one that I had to
In the beginning they must have skills in reading comprehension, active listening, critical thinking and speaking. The education and training to become a pharmacists requires 2 to 3 year of undergraduate and for the D. Pharm. program is 4 years. In their last year of study they must practice under a licensed pharmacist (like an internship) graduate from and accredited college and pass the pharmacy knowledge exam known as the Pharmacy College Admissions Test (PCAT). Although they have an option after completion for D.Pharm, several colleges offer an award Ph.D. degrees. Ph. D degrees give them the opportunity to work in laboratories and further research experiments. After graduation and passing the PCAT to obtain their license, the new licensed pharmacist has endless responsibilities.
Values can be defined as “a belief about what ought to be, what ought not to be, what is right, or what is wrong” (Chelladurai, 2006). I believe that values ground people and provide the framework for all decisions they make. I have four core values that I use to carry me through life every day and they are faith, family, honesty and passion. Faith is my number one value because I choose to walk by faith every day. To me that means staying strong in my relationship with God and making sure that all decisions I make are pleasing in his eyes. My second value is family. This is not limited to just my immediate or blood-related family. In every decision I make, I ask myself before or after whether it will or whether it did have a negative or positive impact on my family. With my immediate family I ask myself, “Would I be okay with telling Mom this?” I considered my volleyball teammates as family, so every decision I made in college I would consider the impact that it could have on my team as a whole. My third value is honesty. I always want to be honest with myself, honest with those around me and I expect the same from others. I believe that with honesty it is easier to build trust, loyalty and respect all around. The final core value in my life is passion. Without passion for the things one does, they will be just that “things.” I wa...
My goal in life is to be a great friend and wife to my fiancé. An exceptional and admirable mother that teaches her children not just right and wrong, but how to be healthy, happy, successful, responsible adults who can do the same for their families. I don’t want to lose sight of who I am and the person I am meant to be in the process. All the while, enjoying every bit of life and making every moment count.
Like every career, pharmacists have certain qualities and skills. I feel that I fit many qualities of pharmacists, including an attention to detail, communication skills, and science and mathematic skills. I have also been a perfectionist, paying attention to each detail of my work. This is what helped me stay organized throughout high school, and earn a 4.021 cumulative GPA. Pharmacists must be detail-orientated to ensure their patients receive the right dosage, amount, and type of medication. An error in this could harm the patient, therefore breaking the Hippocratic oath. Furthermore, a pharmacist must pay attention to the patient’s other prescriptions and medical history to avoid any negative reactions. Next, I have earned strong customer service and communication skills from my job at Fareway Food Stores. Since I earned this job in May 2012, I have made it one of my goals to assist and brighten the day of my customers. As a pharmacist, I would need strong communication skills with my patients to fit them with the best prescription possible. Additionally, I would counsel them on the directions of their mediation, any potential side affects, and how to add new medications into their lifestyle with the least amount of stress. Apart from my patients, I would have to communicate my with pharmacy technicians and any interns I may have, as well as insurance companies. Lastly, I feel I have natural abilities in science and mathematics. I
