It is obvious the marriage between Lady Macbeth and Macbeth is an abusive one. Lady Macbeth is ambitious character that belittles Macbeth when he goes against her plans. When Macbeth informed Lady Macbeth of the witches and their prophecy she asked the evil spirits to make Macbeth ashamed of everything that prevents him from becoming evil enough to be King. However, Macbeth wondered how he would become king and if it would be rightly given to him or if he would have to take it by force. This shows how the hunger for power is more dominant in Lady Macbeth than in Macbeth. Lady Macbeth is absorbed with the idea of becoming Queen and is willing to murder the King in cold blood to achieve her goal. When Macbeth tells her that the King will be
Lady Macbeth desires nothing more but to obtain her title as Queen. She employs to manipulate Macbeth to change him from once the good moralist person he was into a murderous thief.
In Shakespeare's final play, Macbeth the main character Macbeth is very weak, and if it was not for the other characters he would not have committed any of those heinous crimes. The play opens with Macbeth accidentally running into three witches who give him his fortune. The go on to explain that he would become the new Thane of Cawdor, and from that point he would go onto commit many murders. Macbeth also has a wife who seems to be very controlling, and is able to persuade this already weak man to actually go through with committing these murders. I believe that the Macbeth was brainwashed by the witches, and then forced by his wife Lady Macbeth to commit these murders, and he can not be held accountable for his weakness.
In Macbeth, Shakespeare illustrates Lady Macbeth’s lust for power to become queen in her soliloquy when she first learns of the witch’s prophecy. Lady Macbeth says, “The raven himself is hoarse/ That croaks the fatal entrance of Duncan/Under my battlements. Come, you spirits/ That tend on mortal thoughts, unsex me here, / And fill me from the crown

Macbeth's desire to become king is strongly supported by his wife, Lady Macbeth. Lady Macbeth is a highly ambitious woman who, like her husband, is willing to do anything to obtain power. Shakespeare uses a series of imagery to vividly portray the desire for power in Lady Macbeth's soliloquy: “Come, you spirits/That tend on mortal thoughts, unsex me here,/And fill me from the crown to the toe top-full/Of direst cruelty!” To achieve her ambition, Lady Macbeth urges Macbeth “to catch the nearest way.” This means she wants him to kill Duncan so that he can become king. However, she fears that Macbeth is “too full o' th' milk of human kindness” to “catch the nearest way.” When Macbeth is reluctant to kill Duncan, Lady Macbeth starts attacking his masculinity. “Then you were a man,” she said. Lady Macbeth also uses the power of emotional blackmail to manipulate Macbeth into killing Duncan.
The relation of Macbeth and Lady Macbeth takes a few turns throughout the play. It starts with Lady Macbeth being in control and dominating Macbeth. Then suddenly Macbeth turns into an unhesitant man, who gets accustomed to killing and getting his own way. The dire changes in the characters affect the couple’s relation extremely.
Good vs. Evil in Macbeth The good characters in Macbeth are less interesting than the evil ones. Everybody has an evil seed planted in them. Only the really evil person acts on them and commits something morally wrong. Like a Macbeth. When Macbeth first received the prophecies, he actually considered them.
Macbeth as a Play About the Conflict Between Good and Evil Macbeth is a tragedy, which addresses the inner conflict of people's morality. Furthermore, it appears Shakespeare's intention was to portray the modern day attitudes towards religion and the supernatural of his time. Indeed, the Elizabethan audience the play was written for would have been devout Christians, and would have had strict beliefs towards good and evil. The audience was genuinely afraid of evil, and it was about this time that the Salem witch trials took place, where witches were executed. Watchers would have regarded the witches with suspicion and fear, just as Macbeth and Banquo do in the opening scenes.
Lady Macbeth is less aware of the difference between good and evil. She is trying to tell Macbeth to feign his loyalty to King Duncan. She strived for the kingdom, the power to rule, and to be a queen. Macbeth is worried, scared, and undecided about what he should do. He is a weak person and he can not contain his actions.
In Shakespeare’s Macbeth, Lady Macbeth’s desire and ambition lead to her eventual downfall. When Lady Macbeth hears of Macbeth’s prophecy, she dreams of the glory and high-standing that awaits being queen. She cannot withhold her ambitions, and she is willing to manipulate fate to bring about Macbeth’s prophecy. She invokes evil spirits to be filled from head to toe with cruelty to do the evil actions necessary to make Macbeth king and to remove all remorse and pity for her action from her heart.

Manipulative, ambitious, strong, ruthless, and powerful all describes the grotesque character of Lady Macbeth. She cares for no man and does what she wants, to whom she wants, with no hesitation. Lady Macbeth plays the role of the male in the relationship and takes nothing but what she expects. Lady Macbeth is the initial force that makes this entire play move forward. Her inner ruthless and cunning ways makes her reveal her absolute madness and her being the true villain that she is that would make her do the destructive things. In The Tragedy of Macbeth, Lady Macbeth is the driving force of all the chaos in Macbeth’s life. She is the backbone for all the betrayal , values power over human life, and she is not very supportive of her husband when everything is all said and done.
