God Comes Through Jesus Christ
Each religion believes in a higher being than any human. In the Catholic religion we believe in God. There are three divine persons in one being whom we perceive as God. We give God this recognition because He created all things including the covenant in which humans received their salvation. In the book On the Incarnation by Saint Athanasius many challenges of why God is the only God are confronted. It is justified that God is the one and only God through examples, parables and scripture. The covenant in which God came to the Earth in human form as Jesus Christ to bring salvation to all His people is known as the Incarnation and was unquestionably accomplished through Jesus Christ.
The human race needed salvation because of one sin that affected the rest of humanity. God reached out through Jesus to guide us, “He has been manifested in a human body for this reason only, out of the love and goodness of His Father, for the salvation of us men” (Athanasius 2). It was through Jesus that salvation was brought to us because, “God has not only made them of nothing, but had also graciously bestowed on them His own life by the grace of the Word” (Athanasius 5). Another name for Jesus is the Word, “And the Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us, and we saw His glory, The glory as of the Father’s only Son, full of grace and truth” (Schroeder 20). Through this we understand that the Word has been with God since the dawn of time and it was through Him in which creation came to be (Pohle February Seventh).

...believe it is the most important that God loves us so much that He sent His only Son to succeed in bringing salvation to humanity. This could be the most important because without Jesus dying on the cross for us, there would not have been a sacrifice great enough to overcome the corruption that was taking over humans (Athanasius 8). Secondly, by God coming in a human form, we were shown an example of how we are supposed to live our lives being Holy and showing respect for one another as God shows respect for us. This human form was necessary to take because it was the easiest way for us to comprehend and recognize that Christ is Lord (Pohle February Twenty Fourth). In conclusion, by the plan of salvation being accomplished through God taking human form people became faithful in God once again and escaped the consequence of never being united with God in Heaven. 3464

    One of the main principles of Christianity is the belief in both the divinity and humanity of Jesus, that these two natures are combined harmoniously in one being.
