The National Association for the Education of Young Children and the FEOD Code of Ethics were created as a guideline for teachers as to what their moral obligations are to their coworkers, students, families, and the community. Sue Bredekamp and Carrol Copple remind the reader, “The purpose of the position statement is to promote excellence in early childhood education by providing a framework for best practice” (Bredekamp & Copple, 2009, p.1). Provide a definition of phonological awareness that is supported by scholarly research. Include one standard from the FDOE standards website and explain how you might address that standard in a classroom.
Phonological awareness is the ability to be aware of the sounds certain letters in words make. Sue Bredekamp and Carrol Copple explain, “Another strong predicator of phonological awareness; that is, noticing the sounds of spoken language- beginning speech sounds and rhythms, rhyme and other sound similarities, and, at the highest level, syllables and phonemes (the smallest units of speech that make a difference in communication)” (Bredekamp & Copple, 2009, p. 147). An example of something I can use in the classroom will follow standard LAFS.K.RF.2.2 Demonstrate understanding of spoken words, syllables, and sounds (phonemes). a. Recognize and produce rhyming words. By teaching children to listen to the ending sounds of a word, I can use a felt board to hang up pictures of a cat, bat, rat, hat, mat, and images showing pat, sat, and splat. I will ask the class to listen for ending sounds and find the similarities. I can assess them by adding pictures of a dog, chair, fan, and pen on the mat and see if they can match the rhyming words and omit the non-rhyming
The Alabama Educator Code of Ethics is designed for every educator in the state of Alabama. The Code must be implemented for the safety of students and educators. The goal of the Alabama Code of Ethics can be accomplished as long as all educators value the worth and dignity of all students, parents, and staff. There are nine Alabama Educator Code of Ethics and Standard 1: Professional Conduct, Standard 4: Teacher/Student Relationship and Standard 5: Alcohol, Drug and Tobacco Use of Possession are the most important standards.
A code of ethics provides a standard by which nurses conduct themselves and their practice, observing ethical obligations of the profession and providing quality care. To achieve its purpose, a code of ethics must be understood, internalized, and used by nurses in all aspects of their work” (Aliakvari, 2015, p. 494).
The NAEYC Code of Ethical Conduct is a guideline designed to assist early childhood educators and other professionals who may work in infant and toddler programs through kindergarten. It also includes childcare centers and family childcare homes .It is organized into four sections that gives standard of principles, ideals values and responsibilities. This helps the educators work with a station that may be difficult they can fall on the code for assists.
The NAEYC Code of Ethical Conduct was developed to uphold the application of core values, ideals, and principles to assist teachers’ decision-making about ethical issues. The Core Values of the NAEYC Code of Ethical Conduct is based on the foundation of the field's commitment to young children. A requirement in being an early childhood teacher, is to fulfill the needs, of the children and families I will work for. In chapter one, you have the Lawrence and Ashley Family. In the Lawrence family, they are a married couple, which means more income for the family. Whereas the Ashley family has one income. In addition, to the Ashley family, having one income and dealing with the state can bring heartache and struggles to buy food, clothes, housing, school supplies and other day to day activities. Therefore, I need to comprehend the lives of the families I work for and to be aware of the circumstances of the individual families. To the same degree. Ethics is a branch of philosophy which seeks to address questions about morality; that is, about concepts such as good and bad, right and wrong, justice, and virtue. The NASW Code of Ethics is intended to serve as a guide to the everyday professional conduct of social workers. This Code includes four sections. The first Section, "Preamble," summarizes the social work profession 's mission and core values. The second section, "Purpose of the NASW Code of Ethics," provides an overview of the Code’s main functions and a brief guide for dealing with ethical issues or dilemmas in social work practice. The third section, "Ethical Principles," presents broad ethical principles, based on social work 's core values, which inform social work practice.
As a student new to social work, The Code of Ethics written by the National Association of Social Workers (NASW) is in the forefront of my mind whenever practicing my freshly learned skills. According to the Code, these rules were written as the “values, principles, and standards to guide social workers’ conduct” (Code of Ethics - NASW, n.d.). Within my most-recent session, certain aspects of this code were relevant, including informed consent, privacy and confidentiality, a commitment to the client, the dignity and worth of a person, the importance of human relationships, integrity and competency of the worker, and social diversity.
By using the Early Childhood Australia (ECA) Code of Ethics it allows the educator to make sure they are preforming in the appropriate and expected behavior required as an educator.
The goal of education is to develop the highest level of mental, moral and physical ability within students. Ethics are just as important as factual knowledge and physical well-being. Sadly, public schools in this country are against ethical expression of any kind. Ethics are a threat to the school system because they may encourage a need for change in the present standard of education, which is decidedly anti-ethical. In U.S. public schools, students are processed through a well-built machine designed to perpetuate the status quo. Any ethical conflict that a student might have is treated like a malfunction in need of repair. The present school systems prefers cold self-interest to any sense of compassion and I believe that self interest is not a form of morality that children should be taught.
Challenges with making a mandatory education system might stem from the diversity of the nursing profession and the continuing education. One example of the diversity in nursing would be the needs of a Urology nurse might be drastically different from the needs of a school nurse. Another problem may be seen with difficulty accessing proper education or insufficient continuing education. Mandatory continuing education could be challenging for those nurses whom are between jobs and having to pay for continuing education out of pocket, or are unsure of which continuing education they should obtain when between jobs. Phonemic Awareness is very important part of literacy. Phonemic awareness includes sounds of a word, the breakdown of words into sounds. It includes rhyming and alliteration, isolation, counting words in sentences, syllables and phonemes, blending words, segmenting, and manipulating.

Teachers should follow and refer to a code of ethics to help teach in the most appropriate and ethical way; as well as a guide to help deal with dilemmas.
