Listening skill is one of the vital skill during the process of constructing and building meaning, responding to spoken or non-verbal messages. A good listening skill contributes a big aspect in the field of developing a language that consists of speaking and reading. On the other hand, a successful listening varies from different types of advantages taken by the learners of the language during the process of listening being carried on. The learning surrounding plays a crucial role in developing types of listening such as conversations, simple instructions, basic interviews and also discussion in the sub field of spoken discourse. There are two important advantages of comprehension model towards the listening skill. First, it relates to our experience and exposure we have gone through. Comprehension model gives a good exposure by target language to natural samples meanwhile experience enables to build a message logically. Then, the next importance of comprehension model is where long-term listening should be enhanced. As we all know, it allow students to pass their exams. However, the comprehension model has its own weakness towards teaching listening skill. The raw material will be different and readers would face difficulties by assuming that listening is more demanding compared to reading skill. In brief, teaching lessons should be enhanced than they carry out in future in order to make listening understandable and valuable. This process called meaning building is emphasized on how it is used in decoding process to make inferences, gathering information and understanding derived meaning. It is shown that teachers could approach the learners better regarding listening skill through this process in the classroom. This approach clearly demonstrates on how listening skills lessons should be carried out in higher level educational programmes, lesson plans and classroom activities. Meaning building process is carried out for the learners to build good scale in decoding messages using their knowledge that they have acquired which is known as prior knowledge. The meaning building process enables a learner to improve their understanding towards speaker’s message. However, meaning building process is different and unusual compared to the decoding process. It is different because the meaning building is mostly upon a person’s prior knowledge and experience. In brief, a listener should put much effort in order to decode the sound signals and message so that they would be able to carry out the meaning building process.
