I Want To Pursue My Scholarship

I think having scholarship is important to recognize in a student. It shows how one is dedicated and can think at a higher level than most students. I believe that I demonstrate scholarship in my classes. Since the start of my high school experience I have been trying my hardest to get good grades. In ninth grade I set a goal for myself to exceed in my classes, to get all A’s, and to receive a exceptional class ranking. By working hard and getting excellent grades I am hoping that I will pay off for my future, especially for college. Scholarship is not just defined by ones grades but also how they participate. I participate as much as I can in my classes by doing my homework, getting involved in discussions, and being apart of group presentations. …show more content…

To me this means to be a role model and to guide others. In school this year, first semester, my math teacher made me one of the group leaders to help others. I was honored to receive this position, knowing that I was good enough to lead others. I was responsible to help my group with any questions they had with homework, classwork, and test/quiz corrections. In middle school when I was in eighth grade our cheer coach made me one of the two captions for the squad. I was very proud of myself, and that my coach saw how hard I tried and saw my passion of cheerleading. Being a captain was a great responsibility, making sure that everyone is on the same page and on task. Although this did not happen in high school, but in middle school it still shows leadership skills. This year in both track and field and cheerleading, I was more experience with these activities at a high school level than the freshman. So this year I felt like a leader/role model to the new members by helping them whether it was with the cheers, technique, stunts and schedule in cheerleading. Then in track and field I was a role model to the new members by helping them with their technique, giving them a confidence boost during meets, and demonstrating what we were doing at practice. Leadership is a great skill to have now and in the future because it helps with communication and assisting others to their fullest
