Golf has gone down a long road to get to the widely popular sport it is today. Golf is a sport where the player uses a long shafted club to propel a small, hard ball around a large area of land known as a course, using as little strokes as possible. Par is the number of strokes a first-class player should normally require for a particular hole or course.There are many different parts to a golf swing such as: grip, stance, swing, and position. There are two basic golf clubs: irons and woods. Golf became a pastime in Great Britain in the 17th century and spread to all around the World. King James II’s Act of parliament banning golf from Scotland because it was a distraction to archery lessons and military training, was the first written evidence that golf ever existed. There are 34 main rules in golf all with sub-rules and sub-sub-rules.A fundamental rule in golf is that once a ball is teed up it may not be touched except with a club until it has been holed. There is also a specific wardrobe when it comes to the widely complicated game of golf.When golfing, men should wear collared shirts, long pants or dress shorts, ankle length socks, golf shoes, and a hat is optional.
