Through this class, I have come to understand what is communication, the process of communicating, its significance in an organization and the different modern channels that an organization can employ to communicate to its clients. These are the sender, the message, the medium, the receiver and the feedback. According to Kinicki & Fugate (298), for communication to be effective, the sender has to choose an effective communication channel. In this case, I will use the information obtained to choose the best and suitable message channels when communicating with different people within an organization. Therefore, I will choose the communication channel that best guarantees delivery of the meaning and essence of the communication without being misunderstood. One needs to talk in a language that is understandable to everyone (Kinicki & Fugate 304-5). In this case, it would be effective for an individual to use a language that the receiver would decode faster (Kinicki & Fugate 305). It is also imperative to avoid any distractions while communicating. Our phones have been a distraction in most cases due to phone calls and text messages we may receive while engaging in a communication process may distract us. Communication is an integral part of working in the business environment. Individuals communicate various pieces of information to internal and external business stakeholders.The design of an organization should provide for communication in four in distinct directions: downward, upward, horizontal, and diagonal. But we have only discuss about downward communication and upward communication, where downward communication is more prevalent than upward communication in organization. Communication can flow vertically or laterally. The vertical dimension can be further divided into downward and upward direction. Downward communication is more prevalent because in this type of communication, we have to give orders and instructions to our sub-ordinates. So we have to explain each and every step that is going to help in work. But in upward communication they sub-ordinates do not have to give instructions their head.
Everything we do in our life involves communication because it is a way for a sender to send message to the receiver by verbal and non-verbal communication. However, in some parts of the world messages that are delivered sometimes are not received in a way it is supposed to. A way to solve this is by using competent communicator and intercultural communication because it makes it easier for people from other cultures to communicate in general. On the other hand, there are also some problems faced because different cultures have different ways to express their way of communication. Communication is an important aspect of processing and transferring information in our society. The important entities needed for a successful communication includes; a sender, receiver, message and feedback. First, the sender is a person or entity that is sending information to the receiver. After receiving the message, the receiver will attempt to decode the message and prepares a proper response (feedback). Communication is an essential part of our daily interactions; it can be seen used in businesses, for pleasure, sports, education and many more activities.
Thus, there is no organizations without communication. According to Oxford Dictionaries, communication is “the imparting or exchanging of information by speaking, writing, or using some other medium.” However this does not tell the full story. Communication involves so much more than this. In order for communication to be a successful process, the information must be carefully shared in a way that is clear and coherent.
THE LITERATURE REVIEW I. Introduction English is the third most widespread native language in the world, and is the second most widely learned language, including Vietnam. Therefore, learning English to communicate with foreigners is becoming more and more popular and important for students. With the aim of studying the difficulties of first year students in learning communication English, the researcher has focused on two basic concepts of communication English in this part. Next, other research which classified learning and speaking skills will be mentioned to have comprehensive understanding. This chapter will discuss the difficulties of first year students in learning English communication.
Effective communication of workers with other workers and their employers plays a key role in the development of a company. Various sorts of interactions take place between workers in a workplace. Some of them may seem to be included in interruptions during work. In a research dealing with these interruptions, Conaill and Frohlich (1995), their results showed that "in most cases, (64%), the recipient and the initiator received some benefit from the conversation. However in just over 40% of interruptions the recipient did not resume the work they were doing prior to the interruption."
