Forensic Psychology as an academic discipline has encouraged me to pursue this field at an educational and professional level. I feel the need and desire for more education to become better equip to serve, for the prosperity and protection of our society. One of my main interests in this program is the study of human behavior pertaining to crime. I find myself asking the question “why?” Why did that person commit that specific crime, and is there any way of preventing that crime from reoccurring. From completing this program I wish to obtain the same knowledge and methodical creativity, that has placed ASU professors on the forefront in the study of Forensic Psychology and Criminology. Professors like Kristy Holtfreter, who has established herself as one of the leading scholars for Female Offending and Victimization, among many other scholarly journals she has published.

To collaborate with others to plan, organize, and execute law enforcement/investigative task. By contributing my knowledge gained in Forensic Psychology towards new intellectual ideas and techniques for the deterrence of crime within the region I am stationed at. Once I have gained enough experience as a criminal investigator, I want to promote to a higher position within the Criminal Justice system. Where I could utilize my education and proceed with creating new procedures or laws that could benefit the issue of mental health within our society. I believe these new laws and or procedures would help deter crime throughout the United States.
