It’s a great honor to be your leader of this industrious nation and to be able to take part in this humbling experience. As your leader, I will only give my highest endeavor to secure our nation. Addressing foreign policy and trying to find an appropriate solution isn’t always the easiest; but with my strategies I’m confident that we can come to an agreement while at the same time protecting the United Sates grounds. has always been there for its allies. An example is when the Indonesian tsunami occurred in 2004, and the U.S. donated $6.25 billion to the UN relief fund to 14 other countries as well. This type of assistance is essential when dealing with these type of tragedies. We can’t prevent natural disasters from happening, but we can at least try to prevent certain terror attacks. And in addition to that, the U.S. can also help the victims of terror attacks, such as Syrian refugees. This may seem a bit risky because ISIS members can easily sneak into the groups of selected refugees. There are over 40 million immigrants living in the U.S., and 12 million of those are illegal. That’s because the United States is very popular and attracts about twenty percent of the world’s international migrants. My plan on this is to leave those illegal immigrants here, as long as they’re demonstrating good qualities of a U.S. citizen, because if they already made it here and they have added about $1.5 trillion to the U.S. government within a decade. To decrease the amount of immigrants crossing the border illegally, we can enhance border security by increasing the number of patrols, setting up more camera footage, drones, etc. If the U.S. military poorly handles the illegal immigrants, then this clearly shows that we need a way more efficient military. Our borders of this nation enable us to be protected and take control of who we are as a nation. Therefore, instead of focusing on increased border security, deportation, and the hunting down of illegals, wasted recourses could go to other ways for possible solutions to this problem. Still, the perhaps millions of dollars spent on all of these activities could be redirected in a more positive manner. Nevertheless, these funds could be used to help Mexico’s, economy, job opportunities, and health care. Furthermore, if more support was given in these areas there would be less reason for immigrants to cross the boarder illegally. Another possible solution would be to implement or change a policy regarding immigration and make it and overall easier process. Throughout the 20th century, successive presidents pursued foreign policy in different ways but with one objective and that is to make America the most powerful nation on earth. Despite the challenges of each administration during this century, presidents found a way to put American at the frontline as the undisputed super power. President Taft pursued an aggressive foreign policy by introducing dollar diplomacy which was meant to encourage U.S. investments in the Latin America and the Caribbean. He used government officials to promote this policy in hope that it will create markets for American products in the region. In the time period of 1920-1941 America experienced major global events that occurred in extremely short rapid intervals of time. From the end of World War I in 1918 to the Roaring Twenties, straight to the Great Depression in 1929, into the beginning of World War II in 1939, and all the way to the horror of the Pearl Harbor attack in 1941, America faced these occurrences with difficulty and confusion. Between 1895 and 1920, the years in which William McKinley, Theodore Roosevelt, William Taft, and Woodrow Wilson reigned in the presidents, the United States struggled for not only justice at home but abroad as well. During this period policies such as Roosevelt’s Big Stick diplomacy, William Taft’s Dollar diplomacy, and Woodrow Wilson’s Moral diplomacy were all used in foreign affairs in hopes of benefit for all involved. However, it would be appropriate to say that self-interest was the most important driving factor for American policy and can be exemplified through economic, social, and political relations.

Woodrow Wilson was the 28th President of the United States and held the office from 1913-1921. He became known as “the Crusader” due to his foreign policy theory that America should be a beacon of liberty and aggressively pursue the spread of democracy throughout the world. His policy would enable America to prosper economically and develop an international security community through the promotion of democracy in other nations. While former Secretary of State Kissinger writes in his book Diplomacy that 20th century American foreign policy has been driven by Wilsonian idealism, an analysis of 21st century US foreign policy reveals that, in fact, US foreign policy has been influenced by ideals that can be characterized as Hamiltonian, Jeffersonian, and Jacksonian as well.
Over the course of the history of the United States, specific foreign policies have affected the methods in which the U.S. involves itself around the globe. Specifically, certain policies have affected U.S. involvement in Latin America.
Each year, the United States of America pours billions and billions of dollars into its foreign aid program. We are a rich nation, and also very generous. We are willing to sacrifice American lives to save those of other countries. Doesn't this sound like a nice thing to do? I didn't think so. It is simply a matter of getting our priorities straight, and getting back onto the track of making our country the best it can be; the right track.

With this intention, the Department of Homeland Security should implement techniques that would give them a sense of situational awareness concerning illegal activity around the border (H.R. 15). Further, this would continue to aid in the oversight of immigration even once the incorporation of immigrates into American society has been restored. About 65,000 immigrants are serving today. Out of those 65,000 immigrants 11,000 are foreign-born women (Batalova, Immigrants in the U.S. Armed Forces). The top two countries of origin of military personnel are the Philippines and Mexico. The United States offers 11 million undocumented works legal statuses, and visas which can increase its national security (Furchtgott-Roth, 4 Benefits). These workers will be able to have social security numbers and other legal papers that makes it easy for government authorities to track down criminals. Extremist terrorist groups like ISIS, have risen up and caused a wave of fear and mistrust over the world. Desperately trying to escape their war-torn country, Syrian people try to cross the dangerous Mediterranean Sea, in hope to reach safety. A recently, it had been reported that over 500 Syrian refugees have died trying to cross the sea. Countries were lending aid to the Syrian refugees such as the UN, Turkey, and the United States. Everything changed after the Paris Terrorist Attack in 2015. It became known that some terrorists were disguising themselves as refugees in order to gain access to the country. The United States panicked about its refugee policies, fearing domestic safety. However, the Syrian Refugee issue is in fact a crisis. By February 2016, the U.S had resettled 2,819 Syrians, which has risen from 90 admitted in 2013, in addition to 4.5 billion dollars in aid. Following the Paris tragedy, at least 27 state governors stated their refusal to accept refugees or questioned the admission process. The US State Department has confirmed that the country will accept 10,000 Syrian refugees in 2016. This was met with some backlash from modern day Restrictionists, the conservatives. While helping people who are threatened by terrorism is a moral obligation, the issue was complicated by terrorists hiding as refugees. Because of this, it sparked hysteria and xenophobia in the United States against
