Factors that Affect the Bounce of a Ball
Introduction
There are many factors which will affect the bounce of a ball:
· The size and shape of the ball
· The material the ball is made from
· The surface it is bounced on
· The weight of the ball
For example, a ball dropped on sand would absorb more energy than a
ball dropped on a concrete floor.
Aim
To investigate the bounce of a ball.
Prediction
I predict that when you decrease the height you release the ball from,
the height the ball bounces back up to will remain the same. Therefore
the ball height will be reduced by the same amount.
Apparatus
· Tennis Ball
· Table tennis ball
· Metre Stick
· Clamp
· Clamp Stand
· Concrete floor
Plan
· I intend to change the height and measure the change in cm.
· I will use the apparatus listed above to measure and carry out my
investigation.
· I will change the height and measure the drop of the ball from at
least 5 heights to obtain decent averages for my graph results.
· I will repeat each measurement 3 times to obtain reliable data.

Preliminary Work
Before doing the actual experiment, to prove my prediction I did some
preliminary work to which ball I should use to do the experiment with;
a tennis ball or a table tennis ball. I compared my results and chose
the ball that I found most reliable from the results.

The Physics of the Curve Ball Dad said that one of these days I would figure it out, but to this day I am still clueless. I have always been able to throw a decent curve ball; you don’t just throw 6 one hit games in your high school career without one. I have always wondered why and how the ball curves through the air, and it wasn’t until now that I have really had the chance to research a topic that has puzzled me for so long. I would bet that even pitchers in the “Big show” don’t know how or why, but they obviously have the talent and ability. I don’t know when the first curveball was thrown or who threw it, but there is a lot of controversy out there about whether or not the curveball really exists.
the ball would not come my direction. I have never had good luck, so the ball

is the reason that the ball does not rebound off the block at the same

This forces the outside of the ball to push out and therefore bounce back up to 2. However, the ball will not bounce back to its original position. original height due to it losing energy as heat and sound energy when hitting the floor. Relevant Variables The independent variable in this investigation is the height of the ball is dropped from the sand.
Investigating How the Height From Which a Table Tennis Ball is Dropped Affects Its Bounce
How does the material of a ball affect the bounce height/vertical motion of that ball?
Speed can be characterized as the velocity of something in a provided guidance. Increasing speed is the vector amount that is characterized as the rate at which an item changes its speed. Jumpers ought to quicken to idle speed and keep up speed through the bounce. Ideal speed is at full speed, however capable and controllable sprint so that the run is steady. The state ought to concentrate on force (see underneath) while the move from the begin ought to display ideal sprint mechanics with the body at 90o with the ground, going at most extreme speed, having foot contacts specifically beneath the hips. Relocation is the vector or the size of a vector from the starting position to a resting position expected of a body. Shot movement can be any anticipated
Bouncing Ball Investigation This is an experiment to investigate bouncing balls and how they behave in different situations. Few independent variables will be changed, so the investigation is easy to manage, and the data is easier to process. The first independent variable that will be tested.
Whether it is the angle needed to swing the bat, the force needed to kick the ball, or the speed needed to run, physics is present in every aspect of every sport. Players become aware at a young age that physics will be a part of their lives for as long as they play a sport, even if they are not aware of it. From the moment a child starts a sport, the many different methods used to improve revolve around physics. Softball is a prime example of this. Physics plays a role in softball because every aspect of this sport requires a certain momentum and force. Players must aim to achieve the skill to be able to use the physics behind the sport to their advantage. Through the use of hitting, catching, and throwing a softball, there is the need to
The independent variables in this experiment are the height of the ramp, the length of the ramp, the surface of the ramp, the weight of the marble, the size of the marble, and the surface of the marble. The dependent variable is the distance the ball rolls. The controlled variables are the starting position of the ball, the angle of the ramp, and the surface of the floor. Units: The height of the ball from the ground, the height of the ramp, and the distance the ball rolls will be measured in centimeters (cm).
Height of sand, compression Flatten or compress the sand back to how it was, as accurately as possible, by using a flat surface. Research Question How does the height of the drop affect the depth of the sand? Hypothesis As the height of the drop for the ball increases, the measured depth of the sand will increase. This is because the ball will have more time to accelerate at 9.8ms-¹, and therefore have more momentum, creating a larger impact on the sand each time the height of the drop is raised.
There are many aspects to the game of basketball and physics can be applied to all of them. Although to be good at basketball it is not necessary to play it from a physics point of view. Basketball players become good by developing muscle memory for the actions that must be performed in the game of basketball from years of practice. Nevertheless knowing some of the physics in the game of basketball can help a good player be a better player. In this paper I will cover the three most important aspects of the game, shooting, dribbling and passing.
