HInton’s novel The Outsiders the main characters Ponyboy, Johnny, Dally, Darry, Soda, and Two-bit, from a gang called the “Greasers.” They are extremely close and protect each other from their rival gang the “Socs.” The Greasers act as each others family and they support one another through difficult circumstances like losing parents, being jumped, or even commiting murder.
