1. During the intro session at Tech, how would you rate the level of information given and was it thorough enough in describing Rockydale?
I would rate the level of information given at the session, from the best of my memory, as excellent. The information showed a company geared towards growth and expansion. This says a lot about a company in current economic conditions and is what a future employee is looking for in a company. The session also touched on green alternatives that Rockydale is pursuing as well as the type of products produced by the company. My only recommendation would be to incorporate more information as to what your interns will be doing. By showing a list of current objectives for the summer interns it makes the proposal of the job more tangible and will allow the candidate to visualize the position that they are applying for.
2. During the interview process, how would you describe the environment of the interview and the questions asked?
I would rate the interview process as being excellent as well. It was a relaxed atmosphere that was conducive for the candidate to freely speak and more accurately articulate information. The questions asked were good and revealed that your company was looking for a future leader and not just summer help. I have been in interviews that were not structured as well as the Rockydale interview and that ultimately left me with a poor impression of the company.
3. What aspects of your internship were most beneficial to you, and which aspects were the least useful?

7. How would you rate Rockydale’s commitment to safety?
Safety is initiated by the leadership and carried out by the workers. I believe that because the Rockydale employees possess a family like bond that allows the commitment to safety to be carried out at an extremely high level. The leadership constantly engages the employees and allows for a complete analysis of all high risk scenarios and approaches them in such a way that the risk is lowered.
8. How would you rate the aesthetics at the Rockydale facilities you visited?
The Rockydale facilities are kept clean and orderly which projects a professional atmosphere. My only recommendation would be to provide more resources such as a refrigerator, microwave, and table at the maintenance shop. I heard that the shop used to have these items but they were removed due to Chromium-6 contamination.
Although my group was not able have the second interview with Sheraton Suites Hotel, I was able to gain a lot of knowledge about a different company. I learned much about an extremely popular lodging franchise (Motel 6 and Studio 6) and from that I can enlighten people around me that next time I am traveling and pass one of them. Ben Moche, a Holocaust survivor, was interviewed about his life and how the Holocaust changed his way of living. Grele stated that most interviews are not credible, however Moche’s interview refutes this with the way the interviewer and the interviewee interacted with each other.
The interview is one of the most critical parts to successful police work, there are many things to take into consideration before beginning an interview, such as preparation, barriers to communication, listening, verbal and non-verbal communication, proxemics, and the location. An interview is usually the first opportunity for the officers to gather facts and information about the occurrence. Throughout the analysis of the following interview between an elderly lady that was assaulted and an interviewing officer, I am going to demonstrate the interviewer’s strengths, weaknesses, the pros and cons of the interview, the seven steps of a successful interview, and some suggestions the interviewer can better from for future interviews.
In a nutshell, I would say the novel provides a good understanding which closely relates to the course. This novel illustrated the process of ongoing improvement inside a manufacturing plant. Last but not the least, the author taught us how to think before solving a problem as well as how to apply the approach to solve a problem.
When it comes to safety most people think they are safe, and they have a true understanding on how to work safe. Human nature prevents us from harming ourselves. Our instincts help protect us from harm. Yet everyday there are injuries and deaths across the world due to being unsafe. What causes people to work unsafe is one of the main challenges that face all Safety Managers across the world.
From being invited to the Annette Strauss Great Conversations Dinner to making connections with business professionals, this internship was a worthwhile experience. The dinner gave interns the opportunity to meet with current and previous state legislatures and lobbyist. I appreciated this because I am very interested in politics and attending this dinner was very fulfilling. The interns were also going to have a meeting with former city council member Spelman, it unfortunately was cancelled but still a good opportunity. We were also given the chance to sit in on a city council meeting downtown. This was exciting to hear about because we had been working on an Austin city council project all semester and having the chance to see the meeting in real-time was another great opportunity. I also gained a meaningful network with business professionals in the Annette Strauss institute, connections that I will have for years to
The interns met and mingled, which was essential as having a good working relationship with the other interns proved to make much of the work
In the hospital, I've got to be in touch with real patients and I even got to treat them. I would ask the patients how they are doing and give them some water if they needed it. The staff also gave me a green light and allowed me to talk to patients and connect to them freely. When you talk to the patients, you can really learn a lot from them. .This experience benefited me because I was exposed to the real world and real world problems. The hospital experience also opened my heart as some of the patients were in terrible condition. It made me realize how fortunate I am and also made me grateful for all the blessings in my life. I can only thank God for that. Another benefit that I got from my internship was having the chance to develop cooperation skills with colleagues. I have encountered a few challenges with my internship
The interview really opened my eyes to how different a normal interview is compared to the one I did to get my first job. Comparatively the first interview was very lax. I hadn’t had to dress up or even provide a resume to get the job, just some easy questions. This one had a lot more riding on it. Dressing up and doing some studying on the company not to mention providing a quality resume. I really liked the interview even though I was extremely nervous I felt really good at the end of it. A sort of euphoria. I thought that I did really well in answering questions and providing evidence. One of the things that also put me in a good space is that I was able to incorporate soccer into my answers and the interviewer’s child also plays soccer.

In order to succeed at a job interview you need to: conduct research on the employer and the job opportunity, review common interview questions and prepare responses, dress for success, arrive on time for the interview and be prepared, ask questions, make good first impressions, and thank your interviewer(s) in person and by email or postal mail.
Throughout my internship, I was well trained and did receive a fruitful experience. The real working environment prepared me for future employment after my graduation. However, I did encounter some problems, which I gradually managed to deal with. Whatever happens, productivity increases by keeping a positive attitude.
Before taking this course I have never thought about what company I would like to work for and how the culture in one company can be totally different from the culture in another. The course started and this project in particular started me thinking what I want from the company I would like to work for and what I am willing and able to give.
