One of my best childhood memories would probably be a Thanksgiving memory. Every Thanksgiving my Dad’s side of the family has a cookout at my Nana’s house. It always smells like fresh, homemade cooking. Most of the time it is only my Nana cooking. On this specific Thanksgiving, I don’t exactly remember the year, but it was the best Thanksgiving we have had. I think all of my Dad’s side of the family that was alive was there. That is why it was the best Thanksgiving we have had. Mainly because of my cousins coming. My Nana loves cooking, but hates when people come in the room while she’s cooking. It just bothers her, I because she feels cramped up. A couple of people cook food then bring it, but most of the food is cooked by her. It smells like turkey, ham, Mac’n’Cheese, corn, green beans, potatoes. It all is cooked if course. There is a lot more food than that, but I can’t remember it all. All of the food is good, if you like that type of food. I’m just “picky”. My Dad’s side of the family is “okay”, but there still are some people I don’t know, so I just don’t talk to them. The main problem I have had with most of them is them telling me that they remember me when I was younger. My three favorite cousins that come then are: Jimmy, Rebecca, and Melissa. They were the favorite back then because they were older, but not to much older. We would always play hide-n-seek. It was fun because it was at night, in the dark. At that time of the year, you can always hear the bugs making their noises outside. It’s just so relaxing and you you can tell you are in the country.
