Smartphones influence our productivity, make everyday tasks easier to do and some users have become highly dependent on them.
Smartphone could be expressed as “an extension of us, an important limb to our body” (1stwebdesigner). We take these all-in-one devices everywhere with us, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. They are used not only at workplaces or at schools but also at parties, on dates and even during sex. In this manner, humankind’s way of living, behaving and communicating is definitely influenced.

There are numerous possibilities how to take advantage of smartphone capabilities. Some of the functions are built-in, however tens of thousands more are available online to download directly to smartphone. With various technological advances made every single day, today’s citizens have become accustomed to having and using smart phones.
Tweets, texts, and the virtual world are beginning to engulf human society one message at a time. For the past ten years, the estimated phone usage per day has become three to four hours. Those precious hours add up quickly, resulting in a total of one hundred and twelve hours per month spent staring at an animated screen. Children, teens, and even adults are beginning to use their cell phones more and more, and are putting themselves at a greater risk of developing social awkwardness, little persistence, and becoming known as digital natives; all these traits driven within your hand held partner.
There was a time when people communicated mainly through writing letters, talking on the phone, or speaking personally to others. Our communication capabilities and the dynamic of our social world has changed drastically with the introduction of electronics – especially cellular smartphones. In today’s world, hand-held cellular phones have transformed the way people communicate. While these devices have made us much more productive and efficient, they are causing our society to lose the important life skill of interpersonal communication. People can be seen everywhere fixating on their phones instead of interacting with others. Many are mesmerized by what they can do on their phones and are often seen using them while walking down the street, sitting at a restaurant during dinner, and even while driving. I believe cell phones are negatively impacting our society because they are harming our interpersonal skills, consuming our lives, and creating an imminent danger.
In today’s fast paced society technology is the backbone of communication, with cell phones being the primary form of keeping in touch with family and friends, as well as conducting important business with the simple push of the buttons of your choice. Long gone are the days of home telephones and pagers; cell phones are the forefront vehicle perpetuating instant access to telephone calls, text messages, web browsing ,digital cameras, and numerous social media applications.

One of the most commonly owned devices is the cell phone. The cell phone has the ability to provide almost all the services of various other devices through applications. Ironically, cell phones were created for the purpose of supporting communication at a distance, and cell phones have become a cause of distance in human relationships. Cell phones are enabling disconnection in communication, dependency on technology, and a weakened sense of humanity.
Hi, let me start off by asking a few questions… How many of you own a cell phone? How many of you are constantly on it? How many of you have sent a text or something while driving? So, over the past years the Smart Phone has been getting more advanced.

Be that as it may, the smartphone changes our culture and our life as a whole which causes an impact on the older generation and the younger generation. As smartphone improves our communication and interaction with our friends, our families and relatives, or other peoples around the world, the smartphone creates disconnection, and degrades the social interaction around themselves. Although there are advantages and disadvantages of the smartphone that impact our culture, the smartphone improves our communication with other people. It is possible that “many of our cultures values will continue to change as our society becomes more dependent on technology.” (Zackary, 2015) To conclude, the communication technology such as smartphone indeed affects our culture as a whole in many
According to Reed (2010), smartphones were first brought to the attention of the public in 1993 by IBM and BellSouth. When the first smartphone was produced, it was called "Simon". Even though the technology was nowhere near what it is today, "Simon" utilized a touch screen and was able send faxes and access e-mail. The use of the touch screen foreshadowed what would come 14 years later, the iPhone. The next smartphone to be invented was the Nokia 9110 Communicator in 1998. This phone resembled the look of toda...
