The film scores in Indian films are very diverse from those found in Hollywood film. Hollywood films mainly consist of underscore except if the movie is a musical and has songs attached to the score. Bollywood is the Indian Hollywood, and is very large compared to Hollywood. Bollywood, on the other hand, has scores that mainly consist of songs. The scores for Indian films are considered filmi or masala film. Bollywood still has the underscore when a songs in not being performed. Many times during the songs, the singers are not in the scene but are dubbing over the scene in their own voices. These items songs are the strength of Bollywood, and have caused a lot of diversity. Bollywood and Hollywood both have their own unique features, and at times start crossing over in to each other. Movies like “Slumdog Millionaire” have had a huge impact of the combination of the two large film industries. Many times religions like Hinduism are represented in the movies, also emotions are represented.
Bollywood is older than Hollywood, but only by 11 years. Even though over 1000 movies are produced in Bollywood, only 15 – 25 % movies thrive and the rest are failure. This still produces over 3-4 billions viewers which surpassed Hollywood in 2004. Hollywood’s first production came out in 1910 whereas Bollywood’s first production was in 1899. This created an increase in studios, which in turn increased the amount of scores being generated for films. This boost was taking place around 1930’s. These Bollywood films are often called masala films and contain overdramatic plotlines, costumes, flashy costumes and surroundings, along with item songs and dances. The film, “Indra Sabha”, contains the most number of songs in a Bollywood movie with 71 songs...

They produce different forms of drama, dance, and song. A large part influence on the different style of music comes from the Indian religions. Many instruments are considered to have a divine origin, because many Gods and Goddesses are represented holding an instrument. Hindu gods such as Hold Ganesha holds the conch, Hold Vishnu holds he damru, and Lord Krishna holds the flue.
Bollywood has its difference, but is very only one of its kinds. Different areas of India have different cultures which have a huge impact on the music in India. Not only the cultures, but the religions have also affected the music. The mixture between the east and a west is going to be the future of the industries.
