The movie describes the story of Erin Brockovich who is a struggling single mother who becomes connected to Ed Masry’s law firm because of an unfortunate car accident, and begins working at the law firm out of desperation for an income. As she spends time filing papers as a clerk, she becomes interested in the human nature of the medical cases and persuades Ed Masry to allow her to investigate further. Empathy; the movie is plenty of scenes and situations where Erin Brockovich shows her ability to put herself into the shoes of the sick families. This is one of the great assets that she posses her empathy towards their clients. She feels their pain, understands their needs, and embodies a rare compassion. “I hate lawyers; I just work for them,” she says to those who are wary of her intentions. And also Erin displayed empathy in relationships with her clients. In one scene, Erin met with a cancer suffering child and her family. A young girl named Anna, was suffering from alopecia and wearing a bandana. She had lost her hair from the cancer treatments she had received. Erin's eyes reflected painful sadness even as she smiled and laughed with Anna. At the end of their conversation, Erin's genuine concern for Anna left her speechless. Erin's attitude displayed empathy, which involves feeling and experiencing another person's situation almost as they do. Assertiveness; in the scene where Ed and Erin are with Donna and other people, and Ed is trying to convince them to move forward with a suit against PG&E. He is using an assertive speech, expressing his ideas clearly without being aggressive and defending their rights in a reasonable way, but they do not get convinced until Erin uses all her communicative skills, in particular her empat...

... ability to open herself to other`s ideas and feelings sharing hers. Erin has ability to experiment and take interpersonal risks, ability to help others to have their own ideas, ability to help other people to open themselves and ability to help us to experiment. Personal conclusion and reflection; in our opinion this movie is a master piece of communicative skills where most of communicative skills can be found, empathy, negotiation, planning, non verbal communication...etc, among them the most clearly showed are empathy and negotiation, empathy is found in every interview that Erin makes to sick people and negotiation in the different scenes where she negotiates her salary with Ed, and in the scenes where they negotiate with other firms of lawyers. To conclude this project, we think that due to this movie contains almost all the ingredients of communicative skills.

Key terms will be pointed out and highlighted, as well as described in relation to the examples extracted from the film. To begin with the film started out with a communication climate that was both tense and without verbal communication. This was mainly due to the variance in membership constructs of the characters involved. The character's included the brain Brian, Andrew the athlete, the criminal Bender, the princess Claire, and the basket case Allison. There was a great deal of interesting nonverbal communication taking place between these people. Their reactions and responses to each other demonstrated perceptual errors, which would be shown as the story progressed.
The one skill that I used more of was empathy; I wanted the client to know that I understood her situation as well her feelings. At the end of our conversation, I summarized everything that we talked about, especially her want to open up to her parents and express herself to them. She mentioned that she wants them to fell empathy towards her, because the lack of parental empathy that she felt when she was younger, has even affected her in her adult life (Kilpatrick,2005).

To begin describing the details of the interview, I will discuss Lacey’s verbal communication skills. Verbal communication is the use of spoken, written, electronically transmitted words. Lacey had great communication skills. She pronounced and enounced every word clearly and effectively. Enunciation is to speak clearly or to pronounce, as a doctrine, or theory. Pronunciation is the act of producing the sounds of speech. Lacey thoroughly answered every one of my questions. Her vocabulary was astounding. Two of the words she used in her answers, that I did not understand were ameliorate and succinct. Ameliorate mean to make or grow better and succinct mean briefly or clearly. There were two jargons that Lacey said during the interview, which
"I don't give a fuck what you know or don't know, but I'm gonna torture you anyway, regardless. Not to get information. It's so amusing for me to torture a cop. All you can do is pray for a quick death, which you aint gonna get."
Communication is key in any relationship or job a person has. People must be able to communicate with others to get things accomplished. When communication isn’t good, a lot of problems may arise. That is why communication is such an important quality to have. Along with communication, adaptability is very important. Life doesn’t always work out as we plan so we must be able to handle anything that is thrown our way. Being able to adapt in all different situations or places is very helpful. It means a person can be thrown into anything and figure out what to do.
An Analysis of the Opening of Erin Brockovich Erin Brockovich is a film based on the true story of a poor single mother who becomes a lawyer. The film is basically a comedy drama, although not laugh out loud funny, just ironically funny. Steven Soderbergh directs it, and it is his 12th film after his hugely successful film 'Traffic'. The first scene is in some sort of doctor's office; she is applying for a job.
My first strengths to communication are (responsibility for communication) the meaning of responsibility for communication means when someone knows how the person is feeling, and when someone sees them self in their shoes of any person they are talking with. For example, a woman starts to talk to the men about her having problems about her job. Once the woman talks to the mean about the situation the man starts to feel what the women is feeling and understands being in the same situation she is in. in this kind of situations ,I’m understandable when someone is going through the worst time and other times I can relate to these people I talk to. When I communicated when people are going through a rough time I communicate with them by giving asking them the question about something good that has to happen to them. My last strengths are (Flexible). The meaning of Flexible in a conversation is when the person has a good way to talk and thinking about what they are going to say before they talk. For example, a kid can ask the teacher a question, but the teacher seems to be busy. So a way the teacher would be Flexible is for the kid, is by thinking about what she is going to say, to organize her thoughts before she communicates. When it comes to a situation where someone talks to me, and I’m busy, or mad what I do is think before what I’m going to say before saying something I will
This reflective essay will critically review my personal and professional skills that I am less confident in whilst in practise, which is essential for communication and developing effective relationships with others in an organization and even for personal development. The skills identified for improvement was highlighted in a skills audit for communication and effective relationships. A SWOT analysis was carried out to focus on the skills recognised, where finally an action plan was made to address how to improve the skills, what the challenges would be to develop them and how it is beneficial. The skills audit, SWOT analysis and the action plan are included as an appendices. It will also apply communication theories to
On a daily basis, we come in contact with individuals that we have to communicate with, wither it be for work purposes, educational purposes, or social practices. As active humans we cannot escape the idea of socializing or communication, therefor; we make it a daily routine who we communicate with, how we communicate with them, what we listen to and how we listen it. With this routine habits are formed, some are strengths but others are weaknesses that diminish the communication quality. It is extremely important for individuals to recognize these strengths and weakness within their communication routine. By recognizing their strengths, they are able to improve even further and use their ability to get them closer to goals they may have set for themselves. Recognizing their weaknesses is just as important if not more important.

2) Empathy: it can be tough, but developed by practice. Empathy builds trust with client, so that client can express themselves freely. Empathy shown by both way verbally and nonverbally. It is primary response of communication.
