Staring themselves in the mirror judging every angle of their feature, constantly tracking every calorie intake. Up to 30 million people of all ages suffer from an eating disorder, anorexia, bulimia, and binge eating disorder in the U.S. Eating disorders are illness that interrupt a person`s eating behavior (ANAD). People with eating disorders become obsessed with food, body weight and shape. The most common eating disorders are anorexia, bulimia, and binge eating. The most rare eating disorder is Pica. Anorexics may criticize themselves for being overweight, even if they are thin. People with bulimia nervosa have frequent timings of eating unusually large quantities of food and feeling guilt after. Anorexia and bulimia can lead to serious health risks, even death. Pica is not known, but the eating habit of pica is interesting. Due to obsession or adulation can also lead to health risks, such as anemia, lack of iron. In middle school, I remember having two friends who have anorexia. I remember her mother always buying her food to eat, but she would give it away to people because she said she was not hungry. She told me, she had to drink pills prescribed by the doctor that make her gain weight. My other friend, I recall in middle school, during lunch, she ate the bread crumbs of her pumpkin bread. After eating the bread crumbs she called herself fat. During my middle school years, I did not learn well about eating disorders, but I wish to help them not feel insecure about their eating disorders. There is a decision from hiding their disorder until they starve to death, or telling someone what they are dealing with.
