The book I picked was Dog Tags// Semper Fido. C. Alexander London wrote this book, published September 1, 2012. This book was basically a man’s best friend, which would be a dog. It wasn’t just any type of dog, this was a special, bomb-sniffing dog use for military reason. This taught me you can find love through any situation you’re in. Even if the first encounter wasn’t how you expected. Summary on story This took place in Afghanistan during this great war. Gus was with Loki they were battling, Loki got injured during the war, but before all this Loki bit Gus so there was a little tension there. Friendship means different things for everyone. It can mean happiness and trust. Friends are important to connect to, talk to, and to help in tough situations. Friends help teach life lessons. Most importantly, friends are there to love and to feel loved. The Simple Gift by Steven Herrick revolves around the friendship between the main characters, Old Bill, Billy, and Caitlin. Their friendship resulted in them learning valuable life lessons and experiencing the power of love.
To begin with, according to Lucius Annaeus Seneca, “One of the most beautiful qualities of true friendship is to understand and to be understood”. Even this quote explains that true friendship is when an individual stands for another individual. In the novel Of Mice and Men, author John Steinbeck examine the idea of friendship between two migrant ranch worker even when there was difficulties. Through the character of Slim and George, author Steinbeck illustrates friendship and reveals that friendships stand up for each other even when is difficult time.
My overall opinion of this book is good I really liked it and recommend it to anyone. It is a good book to read and it keep you interested throughout the whole book.

When Mac, Phil, and Louie are stranded at sea, there is a moment where Louie about gets attacked by a shark, but Mac saved his life, “One of the sharks jumped up again, then the other. Louie and Mac clubbed at them, ”(Hillenbrand 125). If Mac had not clubbed the shark Louie could be dead, and that shows great friendship. Louie and Phil both showed great friendship by, “Louie catching a bird and killing it, and feeding it to Mac when he was too weak to eat on his own”(Hillenbrand 128). They could have been selfish and ate the bird themselves because they knew that Mac was dying, but they did not. Louie and Phil showed great friendship when they knew Mac was going to die by giving him food. Having good friendships while going through tough times can make it a lot more

Has someone ever come into your life that you know will always be there for you? Someone who the mere thought of makes you smile? For me that person came into my life seven years ago the form of a girl named Grace. Take one move between cities, two color runs, three camping trips, and a whole lot of weekend sleepovers and you’ve got an unbreakable friendship. In the film, Holes, the director Andrew Davis teaches us that friendship can help you achieve and accomplish amazing things. The importance of friendship is illustrated in the film Holes by Stanley and Hector, as well in my own life by my friend Grace always being there for me.
8.Recommendation: I wouldn’t recommend this book for anyone to read because it’s quite boring and very confusing in some parts of the story. Marion Winik’s “What Are Friends For?” expresses the characteristics of friendships and their importance in her existence. Winik begins by stating her theory of how some people can’t contribute as much to a friendship with their characteristic traits, while others can fulfill the friendship. She illustrates the eight friendships she has experienced, categorized as Buddies, Relative Friends, Work Friends, Faraway Friends, Former Friends, Friends You Love to Hate, Hero Friends, and New Friends. In like manner, the friendships that I have experienced agree and contradict with Winik’s categorizations.
