The Game of Golf An experienced golfer, Bobby Jones, once said, “Golf is the closet game to the game we call life. You get bad breaks from good shots; you get good breaks from bad shots – but you have to pay the ball where it lies.” Golf is a very tricky sport because it is challenging both mentally and physically, but it is a game that can be played all year round with no age limit of when to quit. The game of golf can be much harder than unexperienced people expect it to be, and the players can truly evolve as a whole from the time they are beginners to experts. Whenever I play with these skilled golfers, I challenge myself to improve my game. If I only competed in tournaments with that were at the same level of skill that I am, I would never increase my skills. Because I am constantly challenged in golf, I can push though my many challenges in life. Whether it’s in my classes with smarter students or at my job with extraordinarily talented co-workers, some people are always going to be better and more skilled than I am, but I am not going to let it stop me from trying just as hard. I am daily to work harder and train harder to accomplish my goals in life. Without these skilled and talented people in my life, I would never grow stronger nor improve, therefore; I am thankful that through playing golf I can respond to these challenges with ease and confidence. Overall, golf is an amazing sport that has its ups and downs just like every other sport or activity does. I have learned over the years to enjoy the game of golf and life no matter what happens.
