Naples is a very unique city that attracts people from all over the world to its beautiful surroundings. Amongst the pristine beaches and championship golf courses, a teenager can find many entertaining locations. One such area can be found in downtown Naples on Fifth Avenue. Along this stretch of road near the beach lies a vast array of shops, cafes, restaurants, and other establishments. I often find myself spending many nights on Fifth Avenue, walking along the tree-lined streets or sitting in one of the numerous cafés or restaurants. ... are enough power outlets to fuel the creative mind of the techno-geared caffeine addict. The unique decor and fantastic music give it the feel of an NYC cafe. The friendly staff also contributes to the pleasant environment. All of the capable baristas are introduced on the restaurant’s website, with short and sweet bios about them all. This creates a close-knit family, all with a love for quality coffee. This familiarity encourages loyalty to the coffee shop. The full wall of windows provides a view of Bedford Street and again stresses that the products should be enjoyed in the morning. On a sunny morning, the light fills the cafe and illuminates the mural, a focal point. The artistic, wispy design disguises a boring brick wall as a magnificent work of art. The cozy and intimate setting encourages the consumer to return to enjoy the food and people that they love.
Because Belmont Shore was built on the idea of businesses serving the needs of the community, its “culture and production are related, the advocacy of a different system of production is in some way a cultural directive, indicating not only a way of life but,” a representation of its own society. The people who live near Second Street appear to be high-middle class themselves. With the exception of the homeless, it is safe to make this assumption because of the lifestyle reflected upon Belmont Shore. Living near the ocean is extremely expensive due to luxury, and the conditions of the homes around the neighborhood appear to be well kept and renovated nicely to keep up with modern fashion. Knowing this, it would be costly to live near and in Belmont Shore; however, culture alike lifestyle, “must be finally interpreted in relation to its underlying system of production”. With the types of businesses that are run, the shops attract those among the age group of twenty years and up: working class. There are pubs and bars, there are diners and restaurants, but very little entertainment except for the company of friends. All of the factors ranging from how Belmont Shore makes money and to the individuals who need it are reflective in its distinctiveness as a territory known for recreation and urban seaside
I woke up early in the morning with pure excitement. Today, I was heading to Cedar Point with my long time close friend, Sarah. The sun was shining, it was the perfect mood to go to an amusement park. My mom and I drove through the flat cornfields of Ohio, to her farmhouse. Once I picked up Sarah, we were headed to America’s Rockin’ Roller-Coast also known as Cedar Point. Cedar Point is on a peninsula surrounded by the fresh waters of Lake Erie located . It's actually quite nice, if you don't include the often high winds which often force the employees to close the rides due to the high risk of liability and the frequent nats. The Dragster is sitting smack dab in the middle of the park's midway. The height makes the dragster something that you can’t miss, especially on the causeway.
After reading the article on “Racial Microaggressions in everyday life,” my perception on microaggressions seems to have more severe consequences and harmful effects than blatant discrimination. Blatant discrimination is easily noticed and intentional by people being aware of it occurring when conversating or interacting with others. An example of blatant discrimination would be, in the workplace, an employee who is trying to get a promotion is passed up and is always in favor of younger employees. Microaggressions is the opposite of blatant discrimination. Rebellion was a frequent coping ground for many slaves as majority were so jaded by the way their masters were treating them. They used acts of rebellion to help them cope as they were so irritated by the brutality and the inhumane treatment. escaping would be a risky option as it would only work if you were on dry land. Escaping would include effectively making sure no individual was watching, the preparation was lengthy and when the time was right it was manifested. One form of resistance was running away. These runaway slaves often ran to nearby forests, and often ran to relatives or spouses to another plantation. The reason for running was because of the harsh punishment that had been put upon them, to escape the heavy workload they were forced to do, and or to escape the life as a slave as a whole. There were leaders to runaway slaves, such as Harriet Tubman who is best known as the leader of the underground railroad tunnels. She took around 17 trips helping free over 200 slaves after she escaped from slavery and became free in 1849.
When people discuss Naples and describe the sights, they usually just mention the beach, Fifth Avenue, and the swamp. To the people who live here and experience the unseen places, there is much more. There is one place I particularly like. That is Horseshoe Lake and it is a lake where some of the greatest fishing experiences occur that include catching large fish and relaxing with a friend.
At 7:45 in the morning in a downtown Seattle Starbucks, customers want their coffee to go, and now. Hands clutching cell phones and briefcases fumble to toss the latest Beck CD onto the counter or maybe tuck a pound of beans under the elbow for later.
Payson loves coffee but decided she would try two different businesses coffee. The two businesses were 392 Cafe and Starbucks. Payson loved 392 Cafe because of their coffee, bakery, smoothies, the work setting, and the workers personalities. She has not gone back to Starbucks due to her enjoyable experience at 392. The bubbly personalities marked a spot in her loving heart that no other coffee shop can compare too. She loves doing her homework there because it is so relaxing. Payson loves seeing people walk in with huge grins on their face. 392 Cafe is such a positive atmosphere. Of course the coffee is stellar. Starting out as an anti-coffee person because of terrible experiences, she loves 392’s coffee. It just has the perfect mixture. It is not too black, but not too creamy either. Although many coffee lovers will argue that Starbucks is better than 392 Cafe, further investigation proves that 392 Cafe is better according to the surrounding area testers.
Starbucks is a company in which purchases and roasts high quality whole bean coffees and sells them along with fresh, rich-brewed, Italian style espresso beverages, a variety of pastries and confections, and coffee-related accessories and equipment (starbucks.com). During my environmental scan in which took place at the Starbucks on the corner of Fair and Newport across the street from vanguard, I noticed many things in which where never brought to my attention in prior stays and visits at Starbucks; such as the many social groups in which choose to have their meetings at Starbucks. Thus in this essay we will discuss things in which many people do not really notice when going to Starbucks.

When you associate anything with New York City it is usually the extraordinary buildings that pierce the sky or the congested sidewalks with people desperate to shop in the famous stores in which celebrities dwell. Even with my short visit there I found myself lost within the Big Apple. The voices of the never-ending attractions call out and envelop you in their awe. The streets are filled with an atmosphere that is like a young child on a shopping spree in a candy store. Although your feet swelter from the continuous walking, you find yourself pressing on with the yearning to discover the 'New York Experience'.
Starbucks is a worldwide company, known for is delicious brews of coffee and seasonal varieties of tasty drinks for any occasion. Starbucks opened with two main goals, sharing great coffee with friends and to help make the world a little better. It originated in the historic Pike Place Market of Seattle, Washington in 1971 by Jerry Baldwin, Zev Siegl and Gordon Bowker. The creation of Starbucks’ name came from the seafaring tradition of early coffee traders and the romance evoked from Moby Dick. At the time, this individual shop specialized in the towering quality of coffee over competitors and other brewing services enabling its growth to becoming the largest coffee chain in Washington with numerous locations. In the early 1980s, the current CEO Schultz saw an opportunity for growth in the niche market. After a trip to Italy he brought back the idea of a café style environment of leisure and social meetings to the United States we now see in Starbucks locations today. Schultz ultimately left Starbucks to open his own coffee shop, Il Giornale which turned out to be a tremendous success. Fast forward a year later, Schultz got wind that Starbucks was going to sell all their components of Starbucks including their stores and factories, he immediately acquired the funds to buy Starbucks and linked both operations. Within five years he was able to open more than 125 stores starting in New England, Boston, Chicago, and gradually entered California.
