“Mrs. Lampitoc: My Pediatrician Doctor” By Richiel Galacgac, Period 1, August 20, 2016 When I was 12 or 13 years old, I visited my pediatrician, Perlita Lampitoc, doctor’s office with my mother that’s across the green, white and a little red festival marketplace that smells like greens, seafood, rotting pork and the like inside. Once you enter the pediatric building, it doesn’t have overwhelming air conditioner, but enough to keep you from being hot and humid. There was no distinguishing smell, which is most likely covered by the air conditioner’s cool wind. By the entrance, you’re greeted by 2 chairs each on the left and right with a table with toys in the left corner. There are 3 more chairs along the table with another doctor’s office that has a sign-in paper that has a radio and a printer. It also has magazines and free cards for a discount on prescriptions. I slip off my shoes and step on the height scale first, leaning slightly forward against it, waiting for Marge to be done recording the measurements; then on the weight scale and waiting once more. I finally enter Mrs. Lampitoc’s office and I addressed my problems to my doctor of sitting on the toilet for what it seems like years that would range from 15 minutes to an hour, feeling the remnants in my bowels just waiting for them to come out that would burden pressure onto my ankles that would get sore from squatting. Prior to being informed, she listens attentively. My doctor took these issues earnestly and advised me for my constipation in an austere tone with dilated pupils and no silly gestures. She told me that it was abnormal, what the average person would defecate for how long and how daily you should defecate. Not only that, she emphasizes a healthy diet, the amount of liquids and fibers consumed. Without delay, she prescribes me laxatives to regulate my time on the
Physician Assistant is a career choice that entails various specialties and flexibilities that attracts many. Those who desires a path to practice medicine as soon as possible, PA 's lateral mobility allows that to happen. Compared to medical school, PA school requires less time and amount less debt. As the population grows and chronic diseases spreads, The future projection of PA is growing faster than the average careers.
Patients with ulcerative colitis if usually referred to a gastroenterologist. This is a specialist who manages patients with gastrointestinal diseases. The physicians will need to assess the severity of the condition. The questions he or she is likely to ask include how many times are you passing stool? Is the stool bloody? Do you have nonspecific symptoms such as a high temperature, tachycardia and shortness of breath? The patient should be examined and investigated to rule out differential diseases.
Something as simple as taking a walk around the facility can prove to be a battle with patient X. From the day I met patient X it was noticeable that she was lacking her memory. Patient X could no longer tell me her name and everyday it would be different struggle, but for that day it was getting her out of bed to take a walk. From the moment I walked in and introduced myself, patient X could not provide me with her name. Patient X constantly asked if I was her baby, and when dealing with an Alzheimer patient, it’s always best to go along with what that patient is saying. As I got patient X up and out of bed, she started to become violent and resistant. Patient X took forty-five minutes to simply get out of bed and dressed, and that was the very beginning of the battle that would consist all day.

Who would have the expertise to care for your child? From birth to age 18 Pediatricians have what it takes to ensure your child goes from a caterpillar to a beautiful butterfly. The career of a pediatrician is determination. You must be determined to make your patient feel better no matter what. In my research I will be discussing the career of a pediatrician, their influence on society and more.

I am interested in pursuing the Physician Assistant (PA) degree because of my experiences both within the medical field and as a patient. These experiences have led me to believe that a team approach to patient-centered medicine provides the best and most comprehensive care possible. Further, the PA profession offers me the opportunity to continue my lifelong passion of helping others, giving back to my community, and provides me with further opportunities to teach.
Elimination pattern varies among family members. No bowel or bladder problems. They all have regular bowel movements and voids frequently without complaints. The mother and daughter exercises at least three days per week. The father, who can be unbalanced at times, walks every day for one hour. If there is no one at home to accompany him, he will do so by himself and this has been going on for two years without a problem. Ms. Phillips met us in the waiting area and walked us through the very spacious building to the elevator, taking us to her office on the third floor. She explained to us that the building was once a hospital (W. Phillips, personal communication, October 4th, 2013). This explained the wide doorways, spacious halls, drab atmosphere, and considerable amount of walking it takes to get from one place to the next. Ms. Phillips’ office had very welcoming in décor. Pictures of her child and what seemed to be his artwork, and the work of other children, decorated almost every available wall space. I grew up in a research and development campus where my father is a scientist. Research and curiosity were constantly encouraged and this prompted me to take up medicine as a career, a field that offers tremendous prospects for research and discoveries. Throughout medical school I tried to be involved in research and attempts at trying out new ideas, be it in the lab or working with human subjects. I carried this through my residency and now my fellowship. The idea of studying a topic or issue that has so far not been treaded upon seems to be extremely exciting and challenging.
Medicine, medical supplies, and medical treatment are multi-billion dollar industries crucial to the wellbeing of the public. Doctors and other members of the health-care industry do their best to provide excellent care for the nation’s sick and injured, while scientists and researchers work to develop new drugs and technologies to fight disease. We often view medical care as a basic human right; something that all persons, rich or poor, should have access to in times of need. But despite our notions of what healthcare should be, those who make a living in this industry, specifically owners of firms, must contend with the same economic questions facing businesses in any industry. To learn more about this vast service industry, I interviewed Dr. Martin Slez, a dentist/oral surgeon and owner of a medical practice that provides both general care and specialized treatments for oral diseases. Of the topics discussed, firm goals, pricing, costs, and technology stood out as particularly interesting and unique facets of the organization, as they differed considerably from those in other industries.
Home is where my family is, and they make it possible to make home feel like home. It is also a place to relax, have fun, and be with my family. It is a place that I look forward to coming home for the holidays because my family is there. It is really the only time when everyone gets together in one place. My family is very close, so the time we have together is special. I look forward to all the traditions we do for each holiday. Home would not be the same without all of my family

One of my most memorable experiences in Asia was my trip to the doctor. I knew that my slight fever and scratchy throat could be contributed to lack of sleep. With a twelve-hour time difference, I had the worst jet lag that was possible. Yet, the Secretariat felt that I should go to the doctor, so off I went. Once we arrived I took one look at the building and decided that I felt much better. The office was a hole in the wall that practiced family medicine and surgery. It was in stark contrast to the gigantic, pristine medical facilities I was used to. There was a very long line to see the doctor so I took a seat next to a hacking baby and an anxious young mother.
