Despite a dominant 40-10 win against the San Fransisco 49ers, it is not all good news for the Dallas Cowboys looking back on Sunday evening’s showing. The Dallas Cowboy’s lost All-Pro kicker, Dan Bailey, mid game, due to a groin strain in his kicking leg. It was announced this morning that Bailey could be out for several weeks while recovering. During the game on Sunday, Bailey’s temporary replacement was Jeff Heath, a veteran safety for the Cowboys. In one of the most fun moment’s of Sunday football, Heath, who kicked in high school, managed to make NFL history for making the longest kick by a non-kicker. However, the team has made clear that this is not their permanent solution. The Cowboy’s head coach, Jason Garret, and executive vice-president, Stephen Jones addressed the teams plan this morning on Dallas radio station, The Fan. Garret explained that they will be taking this situation week by week but will look at some options for kickers to prepare as if Bailey will not be available for this coming Sunday. Further, Jones said “It’s probably not going to be Dan Bailey unfortunately. But we are going to have to look at signing a kicker because this could be more than a week at a time. So, we’ll have to look at the guys that we obviously think will do the best job for us.” …show more content…
Dallas has been spoiled with unmatched consistency in the kicking game for the 7 years that Bailey has been with the team. This season, so far, he has a perfect record with 7/7 field goal and 16/16 extra points. The Boys’, two games behind in the NFC East, are in desperate need of a winning streak in the coming weeks. According to sports medicine clinic, Game Ready, the average groin sprain takes from 3-6 weeks to recover. If Bailey were to be out for 6 weeks he would be missing 5 games against NFC teams, 3 of which are must-win divisional
Mascots are beloved figure heads for sports teams everywhere almost every sport team has a mascot of some kind; that said, sometimes instead of bring people together it can cause a rift between two cultures. Such as Washington’s D.C.’s football team the “Redskins” often the word redskin was a derogatory word used against the Native Americans and while it may seem as though paying homage to the Native American community the overall stereotyped actions of the fans themselves as well as the sugarcoating of the previously racial slur has done little to bring the two cultures together and instead created a larger disconnect between white and Native American. The name Redskin should be retired and replaced so that rather
The Dallas Cowboys, America’s football team, one of the most well known professional football franchises in the sport’s history. The Cowboys own five super bowl titles, which were won in ’71, ’77, ’92, ’93 and ’95. They are also home to 19 renowned individuals who have been inducted into the NFL Hall of Fame including standout football stars Tony Dorsett, Emmit Smith, and Troy Aikman. Established in 1960, the Cowboys have been a dominating force on the field and still continue to produce to this day. Forbes wrote, “The Cowboys franchise value reaches over 1.85 billion and are listed as the third most valued sports team in the world”, (Page 1). With all of this hype and world wide recognition the powerhouse from Dallas needs a venue just as prominent as the team itself as well as having the capability to hold all the weight the Cowboys name carries.

Charley Johnson has had a wonderful career and an interesting life. Topics to prove so include his early life, his college football career, his NFL career, his army career, and his education. He is very inspirational as a person. He encourages people to follow their dreams. He has said the quote, “They say don't believe your own hype, but if you don't why would anyone else? To be great you have to believe you can do great things.” He proves that anyone can do great things, and can do multiple great things at the same
Emmit Smith announced his retirement February 3, 2005. It was a very emotional moment for Smith, who has played running back in the NFL for fifteen years (thirteen of those years for the Dallas Cowboys). As Smith announced his retirement tears began to flow down his face stating “It’s been a tremendous ride.” Over his career in the NFL, Smith has racked up many impressive statistics and awards. Smith has played on three Super Bowl championship teams (including an MVP award in 1993). Smith is currently the NFL’s all time leading rusher with 18,355 yards.

Do you think media coverage of the National Football League is fair? The media has been interfering with players personal life and it is not ok. Such as the incident with Johnny Manziel, Jerry Rice, and Adrian Peterson. Johnny Manziel committed domestic violence against his girl friend, Jerry Rice punched his girlfriend, and Adrian Peterson committed child abuse. In addition to those crimes there have been many more. These issues have all dealt with law breaking, and media tells the public. This is interfering with player careers, it’s putting pressure on the NFL, and also affecting many youth football leagues. The media coverage of the NFL’s problems is not fair because the NFL has bigger problems to worry about, players are leaving teams, and parents are not letting there kids play football.
Shepherd was projected by many to be the starting slot cornerback during training camp last season before he was injured in a collision with Darren Sproles that cost him his first season in the NFL. Now, the second-year man out of Kansas has to prove his worth to a new coaching staff in a new defensive scheme and earn a spot on the roster with a crowded secondary. Shepherd has less NFL experience than most of the other cornerbacks and he hasn't played a single down of football yet, so his climb back into a starting role in the nickel isn't as likely as it was last year.
Going to a Carolina Panthers football game and it was great! I used sight, hearing, smelling, feeling, and tasting when I went. Out of all the NFL games I have been to, this was by far my favorite. There was so much to do when I went there.
Dak Prescott and Jared Goff are two of the most anticipated rookies coming into the 2016 season, and both seem to be making a lot of attention with their two teams. Dak Prescott was drafted by the Dallas Cowboys in the 2016 NFL Draft with the 135th overall pick. Jared Goff, on the other hand; was the 1st overall pick. Dak Prescott was meant to be a player that could be used in the future; Tony Romo was meant to be the presumptive starting QB, but he is predicted to miss 6 – 10 weeks with a broken bone in his back, so Prescott will fill in for him. Dak Prescott is now scheduled to be the starting QB in the Cowboys first regular season game against the New York Giants. A lot of people anticipated that Goff would start for the Los Angeles Ram
He's at the 20 the 10 touchdown! As you can tell my subject is football, the reason why I picked this subject is because for the last 2 years I've always picked basketball as my subject and I decided to do a sport that I also like to play and watch like FOOTBALL. Today I'm going to take you step by step into the wonderful world of football. Football is an exciting team sport played chiefly in the U.S.A and Canada. It's played by elementary schools, high school, college, and professional teams. Millions of people crowd stadiums each football season to watch their favorite teams. Millions of people also watch it at home. The 2 biggest leagues for football is the (NFL) and the (CFL)
Next, velocity is the speed of something, or someone in this case, in a given direction. You can also refer to it as momentum. The velocity the kicker is moving will affect the outcome of the distance. When kickers kick a field goal, they don’t stand right next to the spot of the ball. They usually stand two to three yards back, depending on how far away the field goal is. With a PAT, the kicker only needs to stand back two yards...
Once again, after a successful season, Shadle Park was defeated by a Big 9 school in the first game of the regional tournament. This reoccurring event has led many to believe that the four year football program puts GSL students at a disadvantage compared to other districts. A junior high school football program would not only increase the competitiveness of the students but also have more important consequences.
Some schools force students to participate in organized school sports. However, I believe that schools should not make this a requirement. Some students may have medical conditions, family situations that don't allow them to participate in organized school sports, or they simply may not have the time.
