The world would be a better place without you, you should go kill yourself. People often forget that there is somebody else behind the screen on the other side. The twenty-first century led to the development of several innovations, most notably the internet and social media. Despite its numerous benefits, people’s reliance on social media has spawned a new and dangerous concept called cyberbullying. Whether it is spreading rumours or sharing an inappropriate image of someone over the internet, cyberbullying is evident in this newly technology driven world. Can I get away with this? I hope I do not get in trouble for this. People will always consider possible repercussions of their own actions, maybe not for others but certainly for themselves. The possibility is what deters most bullies from harassing other individuals and it is where the crux of the problem lies. When bullying occurs in the real world, it is easy to identify and punish the culprit immediately. However, the internet is a completely different problem. There is a constant veil of anonymity surrounding everyone and it compels people into actions or words that they necessarily would not do or say normally. Statistics show that only one in ten victims inform someone else that they are being bullied and only one in five people actually get help from the law (Meech, 2007). Even fewer cyber bullies get punished because there is a lack of evidence against most people. Coupled with the fact that people are not face-to-face for cyberbullying makes tormenting individuals easier. A bully is capable of bothering another person without giving away their identities and eliminates any human elements. Bullying has always been a worldwide issue faced in many schools, neighborhoods and public places. In the past, bullies targeted their victims by acting tough and intimidating in person. As our society advanced in technology, the types of bullying advanced as well. The creation of the internet and social media sites now allows bullies to now hide behind their computer screens to torment their victims. Social media negatively affects our society more than it benefits us because it has created cyberbullying. Cyberbullying has become a worsening issue in our society that is difficult to prevent. We need to reduce our usage of social media networks in order to decrease cyberbullying on the internet.
In her article “How the Internet Has Changed Bullying”, Maria Konnikova explained how bullying has reached technology, and in the workplaces of many adults. The Internet has made it harder to escape from bullying, and easier for bullies to escape from confronting their victims. Furthermore, the author stresses that cyberbullying not only targets high schoolers, but it’s affecting the lives of college students as well (Konnikova 1). Cyberbullying takes place in the Internet world where is easier for a bully to gossip and humiliate multiple of victims in a faster pace. The studies have shown that cyberbullying is making a greater impact in the victims’ and the bullies’ lives more than the traditional bullying and many people are not aware of it; therefore the schools, witnesses, and employers should work together to fight against cyberbullying and provide help to the victims and bullies.
It is still not good to bully people online like that. According to the fact sheet about the “Ophelia project”, “60% of targets said that their online experiences as a target of cyberbullying affected them at school, home, and with friends, and reported experiencing feelings of frustration, anger, and sadness”. As the fact sheet states, cyberbullying can still make people feel sad or angry, but cyberbullies still should not be prosecuted. The act of bullying has been present in children’s life throughout time. It has been seen in movies, books, and even real life situations. In recent years there has been in increase in the use of technology and the Internet. As a result a new type of bullying has been introduced to today’s generation of teenagers. This new type of bullying is known as cyberbullying. Cyberbullying has a negative impact on the lives of the teenagers that experience it.
I believe that it is important to delete cyberbullying because once it's on the internet is will always be on there. Knowing that someone has said horrible things about you is not how you should go on with your day. Cyberbully can make teens do awful actions towards themselves. Some kids will drink alcohol, or smoke mairjana until they forget that they are being bullied in the first place. Cyberbullying can also have the effect of low self-esteem on teenagers. If a girl for instance commented on a photo calling you fat it will help you form a negative opinion about yourself. You might stop eating and slowly starve yourself to death. Cyberbullying needs to stop because it can actually save lives.

It was a message that was not harsh in the sense of being a horrible human being but in regaining the strength and social status of society itself.
As the world becomes more and more technologically advanced, cyberbullying has become a growing issue. It is an issue not just for teens and kids but even adults. In conclusion, cyber bullying is a problem that is growing exponentially with the expansion of today’s technology. In order to stop the hatred thrown onto children through the Internet, preventative strategies need to be put in place. Too many children are being worn down mentally and emotionally due to being bullying anonymously on social media, through texts, and over email messages. Ignoring this problem can not continue. There are so many promising preventative routes to take when approaching cyber bullying. More people need to be educated and aware of the prevention methods available to them, because the varieties of prevention methods are endless.
Internet usage in children and adolescents has been increasing in a steadily fashion in the past number of years and with the increase in internet usage, a new form of bullying has developed – Cyber bullying. Cyber bullying can be defined as “the electronic posting of mean-spirited messages about a person,” (Merriam-Webster, 2012). This form of bullying can come through various mediums including but not limited to text messages, emails, videos, and social networking sites. There is an overwhelming amount of information that defines cyber bullying, identifies the demographics of bullies and victims of cyber bullying, and identifies the outcomes of cyber bullying on victims. More focus needs to be placed on who the perpetrators of this form of violence are and how this form of violence is linked to traditional bullying. This will allow researchers and practitioners to move forward with research and implementation preventative methods and intervention once the problem has already occurred.

Free speech is both a universal and national liberty. The United Nations and the United States of America believe that free speech is something that humans should be allowed to exercise. However, each respective group has their own limitations. These limitation, although broad, protect against free speech being taken too far. Like any liberty or privilege there must be a line in the sand to keep extremists from aggressively using and abusing this right. The United Nations formed "The Universal Declaration of Human Rights." With in this declaration are 40 articles with a preamble examining the rights which they believe are basic and necessary. Article 19 from this declaration says, "Everyone has the right to freedom of opinion and expression; this right includes freedom to hold opinions without interference and to seek, receive and impart information and ideas through any media and regardless of frontiers."
All around the United States, the prevalence of cyberbullying ranges from 10-40% of people who get bullied through electronics. Furthermore, this is a problem caused by kids, teens, and adults who target one another online by repeating harmful threats and harassments. This conflict negatively impacts the victims’ life which is why anyone who cyberbullies should pay the consequences and be prosecuted.

Bullying has been around since the beginning of time.
