I turn around, the unsettling feeling of something following dawns on me. A wave of mist rushes over to me and blurs my vision. Crows cackle into the dark night and I’m suddenly aware of how alone I am. I start running, the fear of a creature lurking in the forest is my worst enemy. Constantly looking over my shoulder, expecting to see a monster staring into my soul. A light suddenly shines onto me and I am illuminated in the dark surroundings. Startled and confused I back away from the spotlight, thrown into complete darkness again. The light is being thrown around the forest, hungry for a living being. I crouch behind some bramble and hope the light disappears. The earth is silent. So silent I can hear my pulsing heartbeat. The clouds are still, as if they’re waiting for me to move. The trees are frozen, with dead leaves fluttering towards the ground. The wind softly sweeps my hair across my shoulders and hits my neck, leaving goosebumps between my shoulder blades. I am suddenly grabbed. A pain ripples through my arm as the claws dig their way through my skin. I look up to the monster. Its horrifying face freezes me. How can something be so frightening? I have never slept since I died but I feel lighter than ever. I cannot leave the tower but I have the company of the man. We roam the dark hallways every day, soaking in each other’s company. I listen to his stories and he teaches me about the earth. One morning, I roam the hallways in my usual routine. The man is not with me as he is hunting. I decide to create a gift for him when he gets back. I spread dirt across a wall and craft an intricate image. I wait patiently for him to return, but he never does. I never speak or see him again. The first half of my book “The Cellar” written by Natasha Preston, was so good that I could not put the book down. The girl, at that point, had no memories which include her name and anything before she woke up on a dirty, bloody cabin floor. She looked down at her throbbing hand and found that two of her fingernails were missing.

I didn’t know where exactly I was going. But I didn’t care. I walked aimlessly in search of shelter, a place where I could seek refuge. Hours went by, and I was losing hope. When out of the corner of my eye, through the distant, dense foliage. I noticed what could have been salvation. I was fatigued and in a feeble state, was I hallucinating? Or was this real? I stumbled through the valley, my eyes fixated on the dwelling ahead. Much to my delight it was very real. I arrived at the cabin and surveyed the surroundings. The shack itself was isolated, old and tattered, as if unattended to for an eternity. I knocked on the door, and suddenly became overwhelmed by a supernatural feeling. I could hear frantic rumbling and murmuring inside, evidently the occupant wasn’t expecting a visitor. I waited a while longer, and finally the door creaked open and I was greeted by three of the utmost repulsive looking creatures I had ever had the displeasure of laying my eyes on. I am awoken to the sound of tree branches hitting the window and a faint ringing in the distance. I slowly get out of bed worried about what is happening beyond my door. I grab my flashlight and quickly head downstairs. I immediately run into the kitchen yelling for someone, but no one answers. I frantically look outside and see the trees swaying and the night sky turning into swirling clusters of clouds. I quickly run into my younger brother’s room and see him shakily holding onto his bed post with tears streaming down his face.
I didn’t know what happened, but worse, I didn’t know what was happening. The sounds of footsteps neared my body, but I was too hurt to react.
My eyes lifted open. The light wind brushing against my face, the dewy, dirty grass making my bare feet wet and chalky, Large trees surrounded the area i was in, i couldn’t make out the type, or color of the trees as the towered above me, creating looming shadows of the moons bright light. An approaching deer, from the inside of the deep, deep dark forest emerged. It batted its large eyelids, flicked its ears also. I slowly approached, the deer's legs trembled, as it obviously wanted to lose my gaze, escape from this slowly approaching man.

Shivering in the blasting cold night, the words fear and death invaded my soul and lamentably waited for the deathblow. The darkness of the lemon orchard under the full moon hidden behind long, high parallels of cloud was accelerating my fear and advancing the idea of `suddenly disappearing` in my mind. I had never thought of death before. The rows of lemon tree standing like elite soldiers made me feel like an enemy soldier captured in war and was being taken to be executed by guillotine. A shotgun was targeted towards my head which made my eyes and legs become paralysed; thus I could not feel or sense anything. My eyes looking blindly and my legs walking briskly with the question” will I die” stuck on my mind like a tick attaches into skin.
The Story begins on a beach with three young children playing. Violet, 14, inventor; Klaus, 12, amateur researcher; and Sunny, baby, professional biter who has not totally developed speech. When they arrive to the beach it is a cloudy foggy overcast day. Violet is spending her time here skipping rocks, Klaus is studying tide pools and Sunny is just enjoying her time being at the beach with her older siblings. Even though it is not the greatest day in the world, the children are enjoying their time spent here at their favorite place. No other people are here on beach and this gives the children a place to be alone with their imagination. While playing a gentleman is approaching, but with the fog it scares the children because they cannot see who walks beneath the fog. As the figure gets closer they start to figure out who it is. The strange figure that lurked in the fog is Mr. Poe a friend of the family. Mr. Poe comes over to the children playing and explains to the children that their parents have perished in a fire that destroyed their home. Mr. Poe explains to the children that they will have to live with his family temporarily until he can figure out a plan as to where they will go.

Relieved, I stood beside her examining the forest around us. Pine needles covered the ground removing sight of any dirt beneath them. The trees rested high above our heads shading us from the sun. Scrub oak bushes sprouted from the earth in every direction. The little girl's eyes darted from tree to tree begging them to reveal something to her. I searched with her, seeking the sight of some urgent emergency. Her eyes caught sight of what they had been looking for and she rushed over to a small pine tree ran to the backside, and motioned with both hands for me to come quickly. I cautiously walked to the back of the tree and a petite gray bird with a white belly. It small black eyes were slightly closed, and although he was not moving his shallow quick breath indicated he was still alive. The unfortunate creature’s neck was logged in the space between the branch of the tree and the trees side leaving him trapped. A minor amount of blood streamed down the side of the tree trickling down to the pine needles resting on the ground. The anxious eyes of the little girl beside me returned to me searching for guidance. I opened my mouth to speak, but shut it again with pure befuddlement. My vision Frankenstein’s monster is it being about seven feet tall, with lanky arms and legs, it does not have a lot of muscle as it was created, it is all skin and bones. However, what makes the monster scary are all of the stitches where its joints and limbs are attached. They look like this, ≠, with red around them because of scarring, and the fact that the bones are dead and cannot join together naturally. His face looks almost alien-like, with a big forehead, big brown bug eyes; his nose is crooked almost as if it was broken. The lips are the biggest feature of the face, as they have stitches on them like the ones on his body, but they can move and speak as he pleases. His voice is deep and raspy, with a very commanding tone that intimidates
Ravens call from the distant snow-covered forest trees with a harsh grating sound as the incandescent moon illuminates the dim-lit isolated street, but it is the unsettling howling wind of the dark night that deepens the fear in the pit of my stomach. Will the track marked monster return to defeat me once again? As I pull the old, threadbare blanket over my depleted self, she abruptly enters the bedroom, slamming the door behind her. As the sky begins to brighten to a gray, and the stars that were so brilliant just seconds ago begin to grow dim, my imagination starts to picture things moving that are really nothing but shadows in the trees. It is as if the shadows are racing around trying to find their owners before the sun peeks its gleaming face up over the horizon.
