Sadie Vs. Miley
Modesty vs. Floozy is how I would describe the difference between Miley Cyrus and Sadie Robertson. Both young girls have spent their teenage years in the spotlight surrounded by tabloids, the media, television, and money. Each one has taken completely different roads throughout the fame and fortune, and each one has had some type of impact on people throughout America. They have also had the same amount of exposure in the media, starting at a young age.
Miley Cyrus is well known for her “twerking”, which she wore clothing that appeared to be underwear on national television during an awards show, watched by millions of people, including young children. Another promiscuous appearance was during her Wrecking Ball performance, where she appeared to be naked. Miley also enjoys drug use, and is very open when talking about it. In a 2013 interview, Miley said marijuana was "the best drug on earth" and called it, along with MDMA (ecstasy) a "happy drug”. During a different music awards show, Miley also smoked what appeared to be a joint while on stage, causing so much controversy, American TV programs censored the entire portion of the show so it would not appear on national television in the United States. During an interview earlier this year, Miley stated “I love weed, and I just love getting stoned.”
Sadie Robertson is well known from the TV show Duck Dynasty. The show is about a family that is built around their faith for Christ, prayer, and modesty. Sadie has been an inspiration to thousands of young girls through her classiness, modesty, and conservativeness. The heading of her twitter account reads “Charm is deceptive and...

...llowing in the same footsteps as his daughter. On the other hand, Sadie Robertson’s clothing line is said to have to be “Daddy approved”.
Both girls have reported to be “in Christian faith”. Miley is an avid supporter of gay rights and is extremely vocal in this topic; even having a tattoo of an equal sign on her right ring finger. Sadie and her family recently had a big controversy from her grandfather stating “homosexuality is a sin.” Sadie
Padgett 3 reacted by saying “We all know this is in Gods hands.” Sadie is now touring America and speaking to teenagers and young adults, and anyone else that will attend, about her Christian faith. She talks with these young women about topics such as the importance of abstinence, dressing appropriately, and Gods word through scripture. This goes to show that a person is a product of their environment; positive or negative.
Robin Ingram Patton is the only daughter of Martha and E. Bronson Ingram. She is currently Vice-Chairman of Harpeth Hall, past Board Chairman of the Nashville Humane Association, and serves on the boards of the Ensworth School, and the Frist Center for the Visual Arts.
Did you know that living with foster parents doesn’t give you the same love than your real family. The is why Ponyboy should stay with Darry instead of the system. He would be better off with Darry. Darry has shown that he is a responsible guardian because he has two jobs so that Ponyboy could stay in school. “Darry worked on two jobs at once, made good at both of them, and his outstanding record at school…” This proves that Darry is an outstanding guardian. The foster parents don’t give them the same love as their family. On the other side darry cares about him more than other foster parents. Darry is a good guardian and watches out for Ponyboy. Ponyboy has good grades and likes to be on the track team, this is good for his health.
Times have changed, and along with the times so has country music. American country music lovers have went from Loretta Lynn and Waylon Jennings, just two of the many classic oldies, to Carrie Underwood and Luke Bryan, two very appealing country music artists. However, it is not only the tune of the music that has changed, it is the image, the appeal, and overall the type of icons the media is portraying these modern music stars as. Icons such as Lynn and Jennings had identifiable features within their music as well as their appearance that spoke sweet southern belle and rugged twang. Whereas Underwood’s and Bryan’s appeal now is much more sexualized than it was during the oldies. These changes affect the way modern day singers are marketed compared to former country music stars, instead of focusing on talent it is now looks.
She just does not blindly follow her faith she asks the tough questions, and she has logical doubts. Just because of that though does not mean she is not a Christian, this is something all Christians should do to strengthen their faith. Evans wonders about what will happen to these Christians that are all talk; they spread the word like they are supposed to, but they do not live the way they are supposed to. How will God see them when they get to judgement day, how will they see her. She deals with skeptics asking her the tough questions, which she does not know and asking herself the same question because she wants to know the answer. The biggest question she has is how can this loving God be so evil and let such bad things happen to his children. How can he just sit back and watch all the killings and all the natural disasters killing so many people? She also wonders how he can kill his children in stories in the Bible. I have had similar questions through my relationship with God, and I am still working through a lot of them in my own way. Like Evans though I am still a Christian that loves God, but I am asking the questions because I do not want to blindly follow God; I want to have a better understanding of him and strengthen my religion. There will always be questions to religion, and nobody will ever know all the answers people have to work through
She is very strict and very gossipy and later becomes Scout and Jem 's guardian in a way.
Regardless of its weaknesses, the book Women, Church, God, by Rosado, is a great socio-biblical study on how women were treated in a patriarchal society, how Jesus lovingly treated them, and reading it is a great way to learn more about who God is. This book is written for the average Christian, or Seventh-day Adventist, as well as for Biblical scholars; it will help these audiences better understand these topics, and help them form an opinion about many controversial topics in Christian society today, such as women’s ordination and the church. This book provides a satisfying journey, full of many Biblical examples of Christ’s love for His Church, and treatment of women; it is an excellent book worth reading.
The ultimate goal in life is to find love. Both “Senior’s” by Alberto Rios and “Last Night” by Sharon Olds present a theme that sex is not love. Yet, “Senior’s” shows how a person’s view of sex and love changes with maturity, while “Last Night” tells that love does not come with sex.
Duck Dynasty is the number one rated cable television show on the A& E Network. The Robertson’s are a large close knit family that are a devoutly religious and often share their religious beliefs with their viewers. Not only do the Robertson’s have a successful television show, they also have a multi-million dollar business called Duck Commander. Duck Commander became famous for their duck calls and their success has excelled from there. Because of their fame and fortune the family is often thrust into the public spectrum through interviews with the media.
Weapons, some say they are what win battles. Technology has become very developed over the years and with the advancement of technology, come many new weapons. From World War I to World War II many accelerated weapons where developed.
“Aunt Alexandra was fanatical on the subject of my attire. I could not possibly hope to be a lady if I wore breeches…” (Lee, 81).
Miss Trefusis and U.N Savory were both different people with different backgrounds, But Roald describes them as different types of people with many secrets. Miss Trefusis is a old, rich women who has many servants to help her needs, while U.N Savory is a strange and odd man who has many weird secrets about his past life. A women who describes her fingers and toes as "the nastiest part of the body"(The Voyage Out,31) seems different from a Soldier who has a desire for wearing wigs for his baldness as "it's quite brilliant" ( The Voyage Out, 121).
Duck Dynasty follows the true hegemonic narrative of the perfect nuclear family and demonstrates the staging of the modern hillbilly meets success. No Hollywood veneer of perfection for everybody to aspire to be. The status quo is not keeping up with the Jones ;but in being more humble and down to earth then the neighbors next door. The episode “Family Funny Business ep1. of Duck Dynasty introduces us to Robertson family their patriarch Phil, his wife Ms. Kay and their two sons Willie and Jase and their uncle Si.
In line two, Brooks introduces Sadie, whose name means "princess." Unlike Maud, "Sadie stays home" (2), choosing not to go to college and scraping life "with a fine toothed comb" (2-4). Through this description, Brooks shows Sadie living life to the fullest, not concerning herself with what society expects from her. The lines "Sadie was one of the livingest chits / in all the land" (7-8) paints a picture of a saucy girl out on the town. Brooks implies that Sadie could be counted upon to have fun with everyone and everything. Next, Brooks depicts Sadie going against the grain of society once again by having children out of wedlock.
Hansel and Gretel is the tale of two children who get lost in the forest, and stumble upon a house made of sweets, where a witch resides. They are tricked into staying with the witch, before she shows her true colors, and tries to eat Hansel. In the end Gretel outsmarts the witch, and cooks her in and oven and frees her brother. A simple story, with a simple resolution. What happens when take that simple story and add in a ton of violence, gore, swearing, and guns? You get Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters, a film that takes the concept and turns it into a funny action movie.
Personal writing can take several forms, descriptive and narrative being two examples. The two essays, "I Want a Wife" by Judy Brady and "Sister Flowers" by Maya Angelou are prime examples of such writing. Both stories were able to capture my attention and entertain me throughout their entirety. Choosing a preference is always going to be subjective; it is all a matter of how you like to take in information. In fact, personal choice is what inclines you towards a certain title as opposed to another. Some may like to envision their own details, while some rather the images chronicled for them. In fact, the crystal clear details given in a descriptive essay as compared to a narrative, set the two far apart. Although narrative essays can give details without as much wording, the vivid pictures painted by a descriptive essay such as "Sister Flowers" is a superior read since the details make the story come alive.
