As on of the top fried chicken chains in the US and a company that is still growing rapidly over the years, Chick-fil-A has already achieved $5.8 billion in sales, making it larger than any pizza brand to date in the country.
Chick-fil-A is the 8th largest fast food chain in the US by sales, generating enough revenue per restaurant than any other food chain across the country.
To contribute to its success, Chick-fil-A has made improvements and has added innovating ideas to help feed its growth; here are the 8 major changes the company has done in a year:
1. Opened its doors to New York City

establishment and is one of the 88 restaurants opened across the country. It also opened in Long Island on October 7. 2. Chick-fil-A refurbished its coffee On August of 2014, a premium-coffee line was launched by the company through a partnership with Thrive Farmers Coffee, in which revenues from sales were given to a network of family farmers in Central America.
One year after the coffee launched, the company doubled it sales.
3. Table service in its restaurants
When someone eats at Chick-fil-A, they are given a plastic table marker to place on their tables after they order, an employee will then deliver the food to them, eliminating long lines in the counter. They've also added service that would refill customer's beverages or deliver items like condiments and napkins.
4. Chick-fil-A added new items to their menu.
In some select restaurants, Chick-fil-A offers a smokehouse-barbecue bacon sandwich and side of baked potato. They also launched a frosted lemonade that is available nationwide and an ice cream they call the "ice dream".
5. The company got rid of cole slaw and replaced it with a kale and broccolini salad.
The cole slaw has been in the menu for 49 years and Chick-fil-A thought it was time to change this siding. The kale and broccolini salad offers hand chopped kale and broccolini tossed in a maple-vinaigrette dressing and topped with dried sour cherries and nuts, pecans and almonds.
6. Chick-fil-A tested new
sauces New sauces including a sweet and spicy Siracha, smokehouse barbecue, garlic and herb ranch and zesty buffalo were added to designated dishes. These sauces are available in select stores in South Georgia, Florida, South Mississippi and South Alabama. 7. Chick-fil-A offered a service called Mom's Valet at some restaurants Mom's Valet allows parents to order through the drive-thru service and at the same time dine inside the restaurant where an employee has a table ready and high chairs if needed. This is another clever idea by the company in hopes to gain more customers with young children. 8. The company supports criticized humanitarian organizations like gay-marriage In Iowa, a Chick-fil-A restaurant donated 200 sandwiches to the city's gay-pride picnic. The company also has sights in supporting the LGBT film festival on October.
Chick-fil-A recognizes that their brand promise starts the minute the customer enters the premises. When a store opens for the first time, the franchised operator doesn’t just see an opportunity to sell his food product, but rather a “chance to interact, build community, and engage with customers and the community at large. We do this in a variety of ways. First and foremost, we strive to provide 2nd Mile Service to each customer. As we work to continuously improve, we want customers to experience something unique. We want to build community and create relationships between our customers and our food, people and restaurants” [3].
Chick-fil-A’s system is closely aligned with the TQM system because their primary concerns are quality in products and services, customer satisfaction and overall dining experience, and employee loyalty. Top -management focuses on the long-term rather than the short term results, which is one of the reasons they promote Chick-fil-A by giving away free meals. Dan Cathy the president of Chick-fil-A, Inc. said, “While others might think giving away so much is a shortsighted waste of money, we understand the return that will come from that investment” (Cathy, 2009). Customers will come for the free products and enjoy the experience so much; they will return and tell their friends and family. Chick-fil-A puts quality first in every aspect of the company. For example, Floor maintenance is very important at Chick-fil-A. It is the third largest

Chicken nuggets is a popular food to many people. Many may ask who makes the best fast- food chicken nuggets ? This question is probably the most opinionated question ever ? There are many fast foods restaurants that sell chicken nuggets such as: Wendy’s , Mcdonald’s ,Burger King and Chick- fil-a.These four different restaurants all have different tastes to their nuggets. Now in my opinion ,chicken nuggets from Chick-fil-a are the best . They have great chicken and that is more flavorful. One other difference from chick-fil -a and these other fast foods restaurants is there chicken isn’t processed. The chicken is seasoned and cooked to perfection in the restaurant. According to Johnson , Chick-fil-A takes the title. The classic McNuggets are second, followed by Burger King and Wendy's.
Overall, it seems as though Chick-fil-A there are several main reasons that Chick-fil-A seems to continue to thrive and be successful. Each organization big or small has its own values, ways of doing things and assumption that it operates in. The principles and ethics that exist in each of these companies are the baseline through which the company operates its affairs. This is what can be called as that organization’s culture. The culture in existence has an impact on the productivity, effectiveness and efficiency (Keyton, 2011). The basis of setting the most appropriate culture of a company is not only to move or increase the profitability but also to make the stakeholders happy and satisfied. One aspect of that is the employee or the human resource the firm who put their expertise in the firm and add a bit of creativity and innovativeness to move the products. Chick-Fil-A operates in a competitive industry thus it requires all the stakeholders.
The fast food restaurant industry, which includes quick-service and fast-casual restaurants, is highly segmented with the top 50 companies accounting for only 25% of the industry’s sales. The $120 billion industry includes over 200,000 restaurants with 50% of those specializing in hamburger entrees. (hoovers.com 2008) The major competitors in the industry include McDonald’s, Burger King, Taco Bell, Subway, and KFC – Chick-fil-A’s major competitor in chicken sales. Chick-fil-A’s unique position in the market, specializing in chicken-based entrées, has lead to a competitive advantage which the company has been able to capitalize on. Recently, many competitors have added chicken entrees in order to compete in the market segment. Through marketing strategies and company initiatives, Chick-fil-A has tried to stay distant from competitors, offering a fresh alternative to the ordinary fast food restaurant.
If given an opportunity to be an operator of a Chick-fil-a I would work hard to make my restaurant the first choice customers would choose for great tasting food, and the best customer service they have ever received. I have been to and observed many different Chick-fil-a’s and how they meet the challenges they face when serving a lot of customers and I want to be a part of that. I want to participate in the continuing success of Chick-fil-a.

Fast-food restaurants are highly associated with low-cost and malnutrition foods with brief consumer and employee interaction, and below average cleanliness based on restaurant health inspection reports. Chick-fil-A has changed the usual perception of fast-food restaurants. Rather than burgers and potato fries, Chick-fil-A serves chicken sandwiches and waffle fries. Chick-fil-A also shows their appreciation for employee to customer relations, rather than ignoring the social aspect of serving customers when operating at a fast pace.
