Would you eat something called a cheese curd? Well, if you ask kids in Wisconsin, and in a few other parts of the country, many would excitedly say yes. First of all, what is a cheese curd? Before you try something, you should know what it is, right? A cheese curd is made from cheddar cheese. The curd is the freshest form of the cheddar cheese, because it is made before the cheese is processed. For this reason, they are considered to be a healthy snack. They are high in calcium, which aids in building strong bones. We all know how important strong bones are, right? Cheese curds also have a lot of protein, which is essential for maintaining a strong and healthy body. Not only are they a nutritious snack, and an alternative to junk food with lots of preservatives, they are also fun to eat. Cheese curds come in random shapes, and are about the size of a whole peanut. When you eat a cheese curd, it squeaks. It has a similar firmness to processed cheese, but it is rubbery and springy.
