In every book, characters go through times where they challenge themselves. In Fahrenheit 451, a book written by Ray Bradbury in October 1953 Guy Montag faces several challenges throughout the book, just like any other character, but every event he faces changes him, his way of thinking, how he sees his surroundings, and even starts to doubt if the people closest to him are actually good people. Montag changes a lot, and his experiences and events faced lead to a new person. Rigid and unimaginative firemen were the correct words to describe Montag. He was a fireman who felt pride in his job, the fire department and his boss Captain Beatty, who he respected and did what he was asked. She opened the fingers of one hand slightly and in the palm of the hand was a single slender object.An ordinary kitchen match. The sight of it rushed the men out and down away from the house. Captain Beatty, keeping his dignity, backed slowly through the front door, his pink face burnt and shiny from a thousand fires and night excitements. The passage above is talking about how a woman burnt herself to save her books. The passage suggests how people fight for what they want. When the author included this event, he was trying to show how Montag starts to change. Guy Montag begins to doubt his job, and believes that he is not doing the correct thing, he realizes he is causing harm. Montag didn't understand why someone would sacrifice their life for a book, but the only way to figure that out was to read. The author made Montag curious of the event, and that's how he introduced his passion to books. Montag got his old books because of the burning of the women. Montag needed a teacher and remembered he once met Professor Faber at the park. He decided to go to him and talk in person because Faber didn’t want to talk on the phone.
