What do I need to do to achieve my goals?
Identify your two goals (short term and medium to longer term). Be specific and clearly describe the actions and tasks you will undertake to help you achieve these goals. There will be a number of actions required to achieve each goal. How do I know I need to take these actions to achieve my goals?
Cite evidence here. This could be from lecture notes, careers leaflets, career research interview, journal articles or books related to the module. What resources or support will I need?
Whose support do you need to turn this plan into reality: parents, careers advisers, family, work colleagues, mentor. What costs

Short term goal
My short term goal is to find a part-time job, to help earn some money to help me save something towards me leaving University.
Action point/task 1
The action that I need to undertake is to look at what I could do over the Summer Holidays and also assess the career theory model that fits me. To achieve the goal I have looked at the different models that we have looked at, from Holland’s to Dweck’s theory. I think that the model that applies the most to me is Parsons career theory. The support that I think I will need would be my parents, because they have helped me get to the point where I have attend University and they will help me to achieve my goal.
Plus my parents can also be critical and help me see if there is any problems that I might experience. Also it might be helpful to explore Holland’s RIASEC Hexagon. End of June 2015 I will have three characteristics for my success criteria and they are:
1. Knowing that I will have something to do over the summer.
2. Keep working towards my long-term goal
3. To have a better understanding of the job/labour

I will look at what a good CV looks like and will explore what is in a CV and a Cover Letter. Once again I will get support from my parents. I will also get support from any University friends who have jobs and will see what their CV’s look like.
I will also look further on the Prospects website. http://www.prospects.ac.uk/cvs_and_cover_letters.htm End of Summer 2015 I will look to find what part of the Baptist Ministry suits me, whether it be Youth Work or running a Church as the main Pastor or even as an associate Pastor. etc Medium term goal
My medium term goal is to try and achieve a chance to go to a Church and maybe preach there for the summer. Or maybe get onto the Lay Preachers List to get ‘my foot in the door’ for when I graduate.
Action point/task 1
My first task is to attend a Lay Preacher’s workshop to get some training ready for the summer and the next academic year, I will explore Pool and Sewell’s book The Key to Employability and get an idea of what employers look for in employees, because it is and can be essential. I will seek help from my Tutors, my friends and most of all my parents. Even whilst I am in the last 30 months of my University Degree. January 2016 ( max. ) My grades will help me to determine whether or not I will be successful as well as working really hard to get to where I want to get
“Youth Ministry” in a better way. Having little or no experience in youth ministry, I was not really sure where to start. I believe my start was chosen for me by a higher calling (God) do I believe I pick the right book to start reading or did the right book pick me? The book picked me and here is why.
I have a threefold purpose in applying to the MA in Ministry program. The first is personal and involves pastoral development in responding to multi-ethnic populations within and outside the church. While I teach and e...
The Values Scale and Salience Inventory can measure an adolescent’s interests and values that may lead to career exploration, which will be discussed later in this section. The Career Development Inventory measures maturity and development. The Career Development Inventory has five subscales; Career Planning, Career Exploration, Decision-Making and World-of-Work information and Knowledge of the preferred Occupational Group (Scharf, 2013). This instrument focuses on measuring what the adolescent has done to help make their career decision, it also emphasizes not just what they have actually done but what they think they have done (Scharf, 2013). This is important in measuring their career maturity, the more thought given is reflective of high level of maturity (Scharf, 2013). The Career Maturity Inventory (CMI) developed from Super’s (1955) earlier theory mentioned above, provides a total score for career choice readiness, three scale scores reflecting career adaptability dimensions of concern, curiosity, and confidence, and a score reflecting relational style in forming occupational choices (Savickas and Porfeli, 2011).
Acquiring good grades will help me to achieve what I have desired in my heart to do, and this is to do my best in helping innocent victims of any area of domestic violence. Without good grades, how would I be able to succeed in receiving my degree in the field of psychology? I most likely would not be able to complete what I started in the beginning of my college career.
However, I will do some events for the lost. Because those events can help young Christians become comfortable with evangelism. By leading events for non-Christians I can have proper doctrine taught before they come to Christ. I also expect the congregation to be trained in one-on-one evangelism. Focus on teaching the simple doctrine of salvation.
work and the goal I have set for myself at Colorado Christian University is the calling to serve
In this report, I will reflect on my professional development throughout this module, from when I started in September, to now. According to Beausaert et al. (2011), ‘the art of self-evaluation is an integral element of reflection and involves critical insight into understanding one 's strengths and limitations’. Therefore, my aim is to identify my learning needs and to recognise my personal skills and capabilities, as well as identifying areas of my skill set that need to be refreshed or extended to stand out in the competitive job market. By doing this, I hope to demonstrate knowledge of the skills that I have gained during this module.
As I am preparing for a new chapter in my life, I have put a lot thought in about what I want out of life and what to look forward to as I get older. In order for one to achieve anything, they need to set goals to reach for. I have a handful of goals for my future, short term and long term, that I will actively work towards in my college years and beyond. In my time at UW Eau Claire, I plan to be involved and engaged in student activities on campus. Being active will help me meet new people, build a better resume, and have fun at college. At UWEC, I would like to get involved in anything musical, along with various clubs and Greek life. Similarly, another goal of mine is to have a job on campus. Having a job will not only help me make some
They also concern with career adjustments people make over time. The career development theories are of great value for teacher and counsellor because they need to seek constantly for insight into the reasons that stimulate students to make certain career choices. Only by doing so, they will be able to understand and help them. Researches have been conducted in an attempt to develop systematic theory of career development so that the students can get proper guidance. According to Johnson (2000), Career development theories can be grouped into two categories: Structural and Developmental.
Savickas, M. L. "New Directions in Career Assessment." In Career Development, edited by D. H. Montross and C. J. Shinkman. Springfield, IL: Charles C. Thomas, 1992.
The term employability is used to refer to the ability of an individual to gain employment appropriate to his/her educational standards (Dearing 1997). Employability relates to both unemployed people seeking employment and those in employment seeking better jobs with their current or a different employer (Ronald, Anne & Mike 2005) The past literature reveals three key elements of employability, i.e., i) the ability to gain initial employment, ii) the ability to maintain employment and make transitions between jobs and roles within the same organisation to meet new job requirements and iii) the ability to obtain new employment, if required, by being independent in the labour market and able to manage employment transitions between organisations (Hillage and Pollard,1999). In simple terms, employability is about being capable of getting and keeping fulfilling work. Employability is about much more than just getting one’s first job- it’s about having a positive self image and presenting oneself successfully, both as a new

Career management plays important role in career development. Career management is done with involved taking some necessary steps to reach the career plan and commonly more focusing on the ability of the organization able to do for their employee to increase their career development (Werner & DeSimone, 2009). Career plan is usually able to be performed, at least in some apart, through the training program which implemented by the organization. Career management process contained four steps which are self-assessment, reality check, goal setting and action planning (refer to Figure 1 in Appendix 1).
My goal is to go to college and then have a career. It 's a goal that probably a lot of people have,
A summer or part-time job pays more than money. Even though the money earned is important, the work experience gained has a greater long-term value when one applies for a full-time job after graduation from school. Job application documents (the application blank and the personal data sheet) ask you to list jobs you have held and to list as references the names of individuals who supervised your work. (Gieseking and Plawin, 1994, 22)
