There are five key ingredients in building a continental empire. A strong continental empire must be able to up-hold these five key things to survive. These five all important things are a strong central government; foreign policy, to deal with other countries; manifest destiny, to deal with matters of land; infrastructure, which deals with state business, transportation, and financial matters; and the ability to solve internal problems such as social, economic, and political problems. America is a continental empire and runs itself using these five things. The most important of these is probably the strong central government. A strong central government insures that the government will be able to run smoothly in a time of crisis and have the capability to make sound decisions that will benefit the American populace. Foreign policy was developed so that America would know where it stood when it came to dealing with other countries. It was important that
America dealt with international problems in a uniform manner. Manifest destiny deals with the issue of how America and Americans will acquire land. Infrastructure is America working together. America depends on many things to keep it running, when these things cross paths we develop an infrastructure. America must solve internal problems all of the time. What these problems are and how we solve them is what shapes America. America slowly began to build a continental empire.
In order to achieve the five things needed to create a continental empire America had to start slow. They first had to gain the trust of their people and settle the differences between them. This trust was partly gained by heroes of the Revolutionary War becoming politicians. An example of this was George Washington. He led troops into battle during the war and then became president. American people found it very difficult to start a rebellion or disagree with someone that had led them to victory against Britain. With
George at the helm of America we were well on our way to developing a continental empire. This trust in America was secured by actions. Our government kept making the people happy by writing a bill of rights and a constitution that gave Americans the freedom that they had wanted when they went to war with Britain. The people wanted rights that they felt were fair and necessary to their existence. The government outlined these rights in the Bill of Rights. The people agreed with them. The constitution outlined rules to form a more perfect Union. Americans excepted the contents of the Constitution and began to build their lives around it.

The Founding Fathers deemed the rights of the individual to be of utmost importance and enumerated specific protections of them in the Bill of Rights. Works Cited The "General Will." Wikipedia. The World of the. Wikimedia Foundation, 20 Dec. 2013.
The twelve amendments brought to congress were changed to the ten we have today. However, it must be noted that the second of the twelve amendments was removed but later became the twenty-seventh, which requires compensation for the services of the Senators and Representatives of this country (Twenty-seventh Amendment). After every state had voted on the ratifications, the ten Bill of Rights was accepted in 1789 and officially became part of the U.S. Constitution in 1791 (Bingham). Some of these rights included freedom of religion, speech, and assembly, the right to bear arms and refuse quarter, right to a speedy trial, and freedom from unwarranted search and
These three places controlled the post classical world when it came to economics and politics. “The political and economic anchor[s] of the postclassical world,” refers to the impact they had. For politics, all three empires, set up armies, built their nation up and formed their government with knowledgeable people that helped keep the empire strong. For economics, they all expanded their trade routes, looked to other regions to bring in new crops and technology and they all had a market economy that made growth effortless. These factors played a big role by controlling and bringing appeal to their land.

“The [ American ] Revolution...was in the minds and hearts of the people. This radical change in the principles, opinions, sentiments and affections...was the real American Revolution”- John Adams,1818. This quote symbolizes the reasons, and importance for the Colonists wanting freedom.Great Britain had left the Colonists to govern themselves till the 1760s.The Colonists developed different lifestyles than Britain. They had different perceptions of how a government should rule their citizens. They did not want to be controlled at Britain's behest. Unreasonable laws, and taxes were why the Colonists went war.

Citizens of any country are given some rights as well as responsibilities, and the United States of America is no exception. The Constitution (US Const) of the USA as well as the first ten amendments, also known as “Bill of Rights”, defines the framework of it. It is a supreme law that defines how Federal Government works.

Our bill of rights all began when James Madison, the primary author of the constitution, proposed 20 amendments for the bill of rights and not the ten we know of today. Madison sent these twenty proposed rights through the house and the senate and was left with twelve bill of rights. Madison himself took some out. These amendments were then sent to the states to be ratified. Virginia was the tenth state out of the fourteenth states to approve 10 out of 12 amendments. This two-third majority was necessary to make the bill of rights legal. On December 15, 1791 the bill of rights were finally ratified.

There are many strengths and weaknesses of empires for various reasons. An empire is a group of countries or state that are controlled by a foreign power or government. Empires will shape a society economic, political, and cultural development. There are two different types of empires by dominance or empires by hegemony. The benefits of an empire by dominance are dominating the productive farmlands and trade routes. Farming also known as agricultural began, “in West Asia around 9000 B.C.E”( Judge, Edward H., and John W. Langdon 25). Be able to dominate the productive farmlands and trade routes in West Asia could make an empire very wealthy and profitable.
