Our story begins in 1863 with a boy named Leeroy Jenkins. Leeroy has brown hair and blue eyes, is 13 years old and is notable that he’s a prankster. He lives with his mom in a white house with red windows and a mill outside and lives on the Virginia and Pennsylvania border. His dad is going to go serve the Civil War. He begged for him to not leave but he didn’t listen but was handed a musket. Leeroy mounted Stonehorse AKA his horse to head to town and tell his friend Manny that they have to save Leeroy’s father from getting killed in Gettysburg. His dad serves as a general in the Union army. Leeroy went to Manny’s house which sat on top of a hill on the outside of Gettysburg and told him that his dad is in the war. Manny is a boy with auburn blond hair with brown eyes, is Leeroy’s best friend …show more content…

After dark the boys reach Gettysburg and set camp in a house. The next day Leroy spotted Union cavalry up on the cemetery hill and a Confederate line. They ride out guns going Pow! Pow! Pow! And heard a pounding waterfall on the edge of the town. Leroy said to the confederates “If you are not letting us through you’ll have to get through me and him”. They all shout BRING IT ON!!!!!!!! Leroy and Manny drop them like the wind and got through to get to Leroy’s father and already have Manny’s dad. Leroy reunites with his father and tells Manny he is joining the army. Manny was flabbergasted in surprise of how they’ve gotten through all of this so Leroy joins the army and Manny said his goodbyes and rode off in the smoke, But Leroy wasn’t out of the woods just yet as he have a battle to fight

When the plan fails, Palmer learns that planning a battle is more difficult than it seems because the commanders on the ground face challenges that do not exist on paper.
